Park Record Recreation Report As of Friday March 9 Park City Mountain Resort was reporting a base of 70 inches at the top of Jupiter Bowl and no new natural snow. 13 lifts are open serving 100 runs. Seven bowls are scheduled to be open The PavDay Pipe and park, and the Super Park are both open, the Super Pipe has been taken down to make room for the snowboard parallel GS course. Adult lift passes are $61, passes for children ages 7-12 are $32, those 70 and over ski free. One-hour tours are offered at 11 a.m., 12, 2 and 3 p.m. A Park City host will introduce visitors to the resort. Deer Valley currently has 19 of 19 lifts and 88 of 88 ski runs and all six bowls open. High temperatures are expected near 50 degrees. Call 1-800-424-DEER for ticket and resort information. Lift ticket prices are $63 for adults, $34 for children 12 and under and $44 for seniors. For current snow conditions at the resort, call 645-6979. As of Friday, March 9, The Canyons Resort was reporting a 68-inch base with no new snow. All eight mountains are open, with 15 lifts serving 125 runs. The F'ight of the Canyons gondola as well as the new eight-passenger Cabriolet are both up and running. The Red Pine Lodge at midmountain is also open. The terrain park is open. At 3 p.m. daily, The Canyons hosts live music and entertainment enter-tainment in the Plaza. Lift ticket prices are $58 for a full day and $42 for a half day. For updated ski conditions call 615-3456. As of Friday, March 9, all the terrain at White Pine is open conditions are warm. The course has received no new snow in the last 24 hours, the track has not been groomed in several days. With the warm temperatures, the road to the Farm could go out at any time. When the road closes, the Farm will be closed it could be as soon as Saturday. Lanes are available for both diagonal and skate skiing. The cost of a day pass is $12 and is $8 after 3 p.m. Passes for children ages 6-12 are $6 and children under six years old ski free. For additional information call 615-5858. The state has groomed the Mirror Lake Highway for snowmobiles. The Kamas Ranger District groomed 15 kilometers of the Beaver Creek Trail for cross-country skiing. The groomed trail runs from the forest boundary to the North Fork trailhead. The trail is groomed once a week. Please remember that dogs are NOT allowed on the trail on EVEN NUMBERED days between Dec. 15 and March 30. Reservations for the Yurts on the Kamas Ranger District can be made thorugh Norwegian Outdoor, 435-649-5322. The fee demonstration program pro-gram is in effect year-round. All vehicles parked in the forest are required to dis-play dis-play a permit. For more information call (435) 783-4338. Soldier Hollow is now open to the public daily from 9:00-4:30. Soldier Hollow has over 20 kilometers of groomed trails for cross country skiing and snowshoe- are groomed nightly, the track is running fast. The cost to ski Soldier Hollow is $15 for adults, a 10-visit punch card can be purchased for $69. Backcountry skiers and snowboarders, as well as snowmobilers are urged to call the Utah Avalanche Forecast Center hotline for the latest snow conditions. As of Friday, March 9, avalanche danger along the Park City ridgeline is low on slopes steeper than 35 degrees, but wet slide danger could increase if temperatures tempera-tures stay warm. If you sink into snow above your boots, wet slides are likely in that area. This includes the Park City ridgeline. The Forecast Center recommends recom-mends avoiding slopes steeper than 30 degrees.
