That's how The Park Record described this float representing the Neighbors of Woodcraft and Juveniles, an auxiliary of the Woodmen of the World fraternal organization. The nattily dressed ladies marching behind the float were members of the auxiliary. Most of the early parades went up Main Street rather than down as they do today. At the corner of 4th and Main, the parade was halted and each of the more than 1,000 children marching was given a dime. The day concluded with children's sports on Main Street, a patriotic speech at the Egyptian Theatre, a Softball game in Deer Valley, a children's dance at the I.O.O.F. Hall, a matinee at the American Theatre, a band concert at the city bandstand and a grand ball at night in the Elks Hall. "The day was ideal and everybody seemed happy," the newspaper reported.
