Show I ) i i. i. , ! , .1, . i, n i, , i, i , i u The Park Record D Section A Thursday, August 10, 1995 D Page A5 Police disperse skaters at Resort Park City Police responded to an early morning call on Aug. 2 from a resident in the Three Kings area a woman reported that a Ford Bronco had hit her car and several others before driving onto the grass and leaving leav-ing the area. Police investigated but could not find the suspected vehicle in the area. A contractor in the Queen Esther area reported that a cement mixer was stolen from his job site Aug. 2. On Aug. 3, a business in the Homestake area reported report-ed that some former had Police Blotter employees stolen some computer com-puter software and computer disks. Charges in the inci dent are pending. Late on Aug. 3 a resident of Twilight Court reported report-ed that his neighbor's television was turned on very loud and he was unable to contact the neighbor. Police entered the residence and found an individual inside who said he could not hear the neighbor calling because the volume on the television was up so high. Saying he had unwanted guests at his home, a Prospector resident called the police on Aug. 5. When police arrived at the residence they found the offending offend-ing guests had left. Police met with an Empire Avenue resident Aug. 8 regarding a burglary. Officers found there had been a forced entry to the residence and a microwave and television were missing. Officers assisted an overly festive Art Festival attendant who had passed out in front pf the Alamo Aug. 6. The woman was transported to Salt Lake by Park City Ambulance crews. Police arrested two males Aug 6 on the China Bridge parking terrace for possession of hallucinogens. hallucino-gens. Aug. 6 was a tough day for skateboarders and rollerbladers. Police issued warnings and disbursed a group of skateboarders and rollerbladers at the Resort Center when a caller said she was worried elderly people peo-ple in the area may be harmed by the wheeled ones. Shortly after disbursing dis-bursing the skaters, police warned several skateboarders in the parking garage of the Shadow Ridge Condominium Hotel and later, issued warnings to two males rollerblading on Park Avenue. Police arrested a male on Park Avenue, the night of Aug. 6 after a resident reported a fight in progress. Police found a couple in a car and the male was arrested arrest-ed for spouse abuse. Officers investigated damage to several cars on Woodside Avenue. Aug. 7 when it was it was reported someone had walked on them during the night. Aug. 7 police responded to a call from a woman reporting her car had been broken into and $1,000 of stereo equipment had been stolen. Officers detained a juvenile on Park Avenue. Aug. 7 for breaking into pay phones in the area. The juvenile was taken to his home by police. Driving offenders are sentenced Judge Roger A Livingston sentenced sen-tenced six offenders in Park City's Third Circuit Court Aug. 1 and 4. Jorge Lopez Gallardo, 45, of Salt Lake City was found guilty of operating a vehicle without insurance. insur-ance. Gallardo fined $1,000 and speeding. Kesler was fined a total of $150. Kevin Kutschksu, 24, of Park City pleaded and was found guilty of disorderly conduct. Kutschksu was fined $150, of which $75 was was of which $800 was suspended, and sentenced to 90 days in jail, of which all were suspended. sus-pended. Eric William Orwig, 29, of Park City pleaded and was found guilty of speeding and never obtaining a license. Orwig was fined at total of $80 and paid a $70 warrant fee. Aido Cornejo Rea, 22, of Park City pleaded and was found guilty of never obtaining a license and going the wrong way down a oneway one-way street. Rea was fined a total of $100 and sentenced to 90 ! days in jail, of which all 1 were suspended. I I Karen Dawn I I Weyman, 22, of Salt 3j;J Lake City pleaded and was found guilty of driving dri-ving under the influence of alcohol. alco-hol. Weyman was fined $65, of which $500 was suspended, and sentenced to 90 days in jail, of which all were suspended. Weyman was also ordered to perform per-form 24 hours of community service. Auto break-ins top sheriff's report The Summit County Dispatch Center received 227 calls during the week of July 31 to Aug. 7. Of those calls 39 were for medical emergencies, 20 were fire related, 23 were animal control complaints and nine involved injury accidents. The sheriff's department handled 121 of the calls. Among the cases handled by the sheriff's department depart-ment were 15 theft cases including four auto burglaries burglar-ies in the SnydervilleParkWest area and a theft of backpacks from a Boy Scout troop in Kamas.There were also four burglaries, of which one occurred in Pinebrook where an individual appar ently entered a garage and took a mountain bike. Aug. 1, at about 10:30 p.m., a camper was reported report-ed missing in the Wasatch National Forest near Mirror Lake. Summit County Search and Rescue was called in and they found the individual the next morning. morn-ing. According to the report from the sheriff's department, depart-ment, the man had been fishing a stream near the lake and became confused when it got dark. He was not injured and was returned to his campsite at Trial Lake. Aug. 2, two separate accidents involving semi trucks occurred. Both accidents happened in Silver Creek Canyon where the highway is under construction. construc-tion. In each case the trucks overturned spilling their loads on the freeway. Both drivers were transported for medical treatment. Aug. 3, a Battle of the Bands concert was held at Wolf Mountain. The event triggered 16 incidents including four assaults and numerous alcohol-related problems. One person was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. During the week, 28 individuals were booked into the Summit County Jail. The charges includ ed five assaults, eight drug arrests, and one case of resisting arrest and burglary. Officers from the sheriff's sher-iff's department and from the Utah Highway Patrol arrested seven individuals for DUI last week. Sheriff's Tip of the Week: When camping or visiting the national forest, make sure someone knows where you will be. Leave information including how many people are in your party, when you plan to return home, what kind of vehicle you are driving and the license plate number.
