Rich C. Reily, age 36, of Park City appeared in Coalville's Third District Court on Nov. 14. He was convicted and sentenced for the crime of Production of a Controlled Substance, a Third Degree Felony, on Nov. 14. The defendant was fined $500 and placed on probation for 24 months. Nov. 15, five citizens were sentenced in Third Circuit Court. Raymond L. Jessop, age 21, of Salt Lake City, was convicted and sentenced for Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Class A Misdemeanor, and speeding, a Class C Misdemeanor. For the speeding offense he was fined $20 and is required to complete eight hours of defensive driving instruction. On the controlled substance count, Jessop was sentenced to 90 days in jail, fined $750 and placed on probation for 18 months. Mathew T. Holland, age 24, of Salt Lake City was convicted and sentenced for the crimes of assault against a police officer, a Class A Misdemeanor, and intoxication, a Class C Misdemeanor. Carey Wade Lewis, age 40, of Salt Lake City was convicted and sentenced for the crimes of driving on suspension, a Class C Misdemeanor, Disorderly Conduct, an Infraction and Stalking, a Class B Misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail and fined a total of $250 for all three offenses. Jeff D. Lowe, age 36, of Green River, Wyo. was convicted and sentence for using a dangerous weapon in a fight or quarrel,: a Class A Misdemeanor. He was fined $50 and placed on probation for one year." Mohamed Maurice Chikhi of Park City, date of birth Sept. 9, 1965 pleaded guilty to noise disturbance. He was fined $250, of which $175 was suspended. Cyril Hirsche of Provo, date of birth Oct 16, 1976, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of alcohol by a minor. He was fined $350, of which $325 was suspended. Scott Maxwell Kelly of Sandy, date of birth May 5, 1963, pleaded guilty to giving false evidence regarding an automobile. He was fined $200, of which $150 was suspended. Kerry Kent Lawson of Park City, date of birth Oct. 19, 1962, pleaded guilty to shoplifting. He was fined $400, of which $225 was suspended. He was also ordered to spend 60 days in jail, of which 58 days were suspended. The judge also required Lawson to complete an alcohol abuse course and to attend counseling. Court New James Aaron Piper of Salt Lake City, date of birth July 19, 1963, pleaded guilty to failing to yield, and was fined $75. Wilbert Stewart of Park City, date of birth Jan. 1 1, 1960, pleaded guilty to simple assault. He was required to attend counseling and alcohol abuse classes. Jose A. Corral of Park City, date of birth Dec. 19, 1971, pleaded guilty to simple assault. He was fined $1,000, of which $900 was suspended. Boyd Fronk, Area Maintenance Supervisor for the Utah Department of Transportation, was given special recognition recently by the State Juvenile Court Restitution Committee. The award was presented by Chief Justice Michael Zimmerman at a luncheon meeting closing the annual Juvenile Work Restitution training conference in Park City. Fronk, a 32 year U.D.O.T. veteran, was honored for his work with the Third District Juvenile Court Work Restitution Program. Fronk has been remarkably successful in matching the community's need for a clean and pleasant environment with the young offenders needs to restore their victims loses, and to learn the value of discipline and hard work. For the last five years, Fronk has coordinated U.D.O.T. sites for juvenile work crews. The Juvenile Work Restitution Program gives young offenders the chance to pay off any restitution owed their victims by supervised work on community service projects. A significant part of the Salt Lake County work restitution effort involves clean-up and beautification of many U.D.O.T. sites. Juvenile work crews have worked at graffiti cleanup as well as garbage pickup around the valley.
