Preston throughout Utah schools Park City High School teacher Linda Preston was told Tuesday that she received the Chrlsta McAulliffe Fellowship Award sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education. This year, Preston was the only Fellowship recipient statewide. During the 1991-92 school year she will travel throught Utah's school system assisting other educators with science curriculum. The federal government provides each state with $33,300 to implement the mentor-style mentor-style program. Preston will work with an intern at PCHS who will substitute during resultant school year absences. A teacher at PCHS for seven years, - Preston has taught for a total of 15 years. Currently she instructs high school students in basic programming, biology, space science, physical science and coaches the school's academic decathlon team. Middle School's holiday program set for Dec. 20 Treasure Mountain Middle School's holiday music program is set for Dec. 20. The Back Porch singers are set to perform. Finding them involves in-volves going through an endless blur of cardboard boxes. The eternal clamor slid inside my ears, bouncing around in my head. As my mother started to mutter and swear under her breath I began to wish more than ever for that box to show up. It usually did at that point. Our whole family roared up two flights of stairs. Everyone just about trampled trampl-ed the tree when they entered the living liv-ing room. My mother sat down to relax, "Would you hurry up and get Reservations please call 649-1116 the tree up! " bellowed my father. "Gladly your Excellency," my sister's candy sweet voice floated up from the floor as she bowed to him. "Don't sass your elders," Mom scolded sharply. "Oh lighten up Jen," My father contrasted. This ended our silly conversation. con-versation. My dad then decided that since no one else was cooperating he would take matters into his own hands! He continued to put the tree up and the lights on. When the whole thing was a mass of green and white the rest of us got interested. We all got our personal ornaments out and placed them tenderly among the branches. When all was completed including the strings of popcorn and cranberries it was better than ever.
