The purpose of that flyer was an attempt on our behalf as businessmen in Park City to allow an ongoing activity for children, both boys and girls, three days a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Fri-day, to participate in activities at our Athletic Club. The purpose was not to make money; in fact, the purpose pur-pose was to help the school and the parents find some constructive use of time for these children three days a week. I have a child in the High School as well as the Middle School, and after talking with school officials of-ficials both at the High School and the Middle School and with the local Police Department, have found that there is a potential latch key child problem. It is our intent and purpose to assist the community by providing a time and a place with constructive activities for all those children who wish to participate. We do have a large membership and those children of members were allowed to come at no charge. We had asked for a $2 per day for non-members' children simply to help cover costs, but I made it very specific to the school officials that if there were any children needing sponsorships that I, personally, would provide them.. In closing, I would just add that I am truly sorry if this has offended Mrs. Stokes or any of the other parents, but our intentions were to assist them and their children with some wholesome fundamental activities. ac-tivities. Thank you. David L. Williams, owner Red Pine Rescue thanks Ma Bell Editor: The Red Pine Backcountry Rescue group would like to extend their gratitude to Mountain Bell of Utah for their generous unsolicited donation to our organization. We would also like to thank the following businesses for donating door prizes at our annual fundraiser party: Big Four Distributing (Budweiser), Provo Parkwest Ski Area Park City Resort Deer Valley Ski Patrol Utah Ski Interconnect, SLC Norwegian School of Nature Life White Pine Touring Thank you Steeps at the Base, Park City Resort Plaza for allowing us to use their facilities ; we gave the dance floor a good workout. It is through the support of these companies that we will be able to continue our efforts in backcountry safety awareness and the purchasing purchas-ing of expensive rescue equipment. We now have rescue and support packs in four emergency locations in Park City and ParkWest. We have developed and tested a complete rescue activation system through and in co-operation with the Summit County Sheriff and the three Park City area ski resorts, as well as the donation of avalanche-related books to the Park City Library. Thank you for your continued support. Dave Scroggin, President RPBR Thanks for help at auto accident Editor: In this day and time there are few people who will come forward to rescue or to lend a helping hand when there is an automobile wreck on the highway. BEFORE TOWN LEAVES TOWN t Advertise in the Travel Section Keservanon ueacmne Marcn zi Most people prefer to stand around and listen to the screams of the injured, as they bleed from the flying glass and jagged metal and they offer no help. But you didn't while everyone else was standing around looking at me holding my two year old son in my arms who was bleeding from gashes in his face. You heard my begging plea for someone so-meone to help me on 12687 at about 9:30 a.m. You came forward and offered your help. I didn't get your name as you took us to the emergency room in Park City. You left, and I didn't get a chance to thank you. You are a vanishing breed. Thank you young man with the shuttle van. Ron Crews and son B.J.
