Sena Taylor Commission OKs request for structures to be renovated Melbourne Armstrong received a positive recommendation from the Park City Historic District Commission Commis-sion Jan. 20 on his application for variances for two significant historic structures. He had applied for and received permits to demolish both structures in 1985 with the understanding that "adaptive reuse" was not an option. Now, he intends to renovate one on upper Main for low intensity commercial com-mercial use, and the second, across from the little red house at 4th and Park Avenue, for office space. The house at 139 Main St. was built c. 1885, and is architect- urally significant as one of the hall and parlor houses in Park City, according accor-ding to City Planner Suzanne Mcln-tyre. Mcln-tyre. It has been vacant for several years and "is in considerable disrepair," she noted. The second house is located at 401 Park Ave. and is one of 69 extant "pyramid" houses in Park City, said Mclntyre. The house is vacant and is in extremely deteriorated condition, but enough remains to "maintain the original character," she added. The planning staff suggested forwarding for-warding a positive recommendation to the Board of Adjustment, who will make a final decision Feb. 3. The four commissioners who attended Tuesday's meeting unanimously upheld the staff recommendation. t m i r i iff t s The Cactus Rose Park City's most unique restaurant Featuring Cut to your desired size Steaks & Fresh Seafood Rib Eye ' Sirloin Strip Tenderloin Shark Halibut Salmon & more Meals include salad bar, baked potato.
