(tfn) Library offers tax help Are you tired of waiting in a line or on the telphone to get help with your federal income tax return? The Park City Library has cassette tapes with recorded instructions on how to fill out both the short Form 1040A, 1040EZ and the longer Form 1040, along with Schedules A and B. These tapes, prepared by the Internal Revenue Service, can be checked out just like a book and played at home on any standard cassette tape player. There is even a provision for stopping the tape at convenient points to finish working on a section of the form. Persons using these cassette tapes should have their tax forms and instructions available so that they can work right along with the tape. (414) Story Time for preschoolers Story Time for preschoolers is held at the Park City Library Thursday at 10 o'clock. Children ages three to five are welcome, visitors as well as residents. (TFN) Rugby practice Rugby practice will be held on Thursday nights starting Jan. 27 at the Treasure Mountain Middle School from 7 to 9 p.m. All interested men are welcome to attend. (tfn) Auditions for Cabaret '83 Auditions for the Park City Cabaret '83 (or the Silver Queen Strikes Again), a musical revue, will be held Jan. 31 and Feb. 2 in the Kimball Art Center's Main Gallery. Auditions for male and female models and movers (persons (per-sons who can perform in silent skits) will be held Monday, Jan. 31. Persons who can rehearse during the day should come to the 1 p.m. audition. Persons who can rehearse at night should audition at 7 p.m. There will also be rehearsals for male and female dancers Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. According to Mary Jane Bird, more male dancers are needed for the Cabaret. Any male dancers who are not already involved in the Cabaret are also invited to audition Wednesday, February 2 at 7 p.m. This year's performance will be held Feb. 18 and 19. San Diego's Wanda Belli and Ed Perez will produce and choreograph the event. In addition, a number of Park City businesses and individuals will provide talent and costumes for the Cabaret. For further information, call 649-8882. (127) Lamplighter is open The Lamplighter is sponsored by Park City's Ecumenical Council to provide an alternative place of entertainment. It will be a casual atmosphere of live entertainment, serving coffees, teas, hot chocolate and cider. The old library on Main Street will be the location for the Lamplighter on Friday and Saturday evenings from 7 to 11 p.m. Anyone interested in performing please contact any clergy, or specifically Ben Clark at 649-8084. (tfn) Open house for Rose Peterson Rose Peterson is celebrating her 80th birthday. Her family is having an open house Saturday, Feb. 5 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Park City's 2nd Ward, located at Kimball Junction. All friends are invited. (13) Utah Jazz vs. 76ers The Park City Recreation Department is offering, by popular demand, 30 tickets to the 76ers vs. Jazz game. It's Saturday night, Jan. 29. $10 includes a bus ride to and from the Salt Palace. Call 649-9461 to purchase tickets. (127) Mixed bowling league Did you know there's actually a bowling alley in Park City? Best part of all, it's right on Main Street. Every Sunday beginning at 6 p.m. a mixed bowling league is on the lanes. Anyone can join. Call 649-9461 for registration. (127) The city now has answering machines for the phones at both the public works shops, 649-5912, and the transportation office, 649-6660, for after-hour information and emergencies. The transportation answering machine has a recording which will give you bus schedule information and can take messages. , Public works crews are now on duty seven days a week, but as they are not always by the phone, their answering machine will also take a message, as well as tell you which superintendent is on duty and give his phone number. In case of an emergency the Park City Police Department can reach the public works crew by two-way radio. By calling sheriff's dispatch at 649-9561, they can reach a police officer who in turn will contact public works and relay the message. (127) Community church school Park City's thriving community Sunday School program is a joint effort by three Protestant churches. Held each Sunday morning at 9 a.m. at the Park City Community Church, 402 Park Avenue, the classes consist of people from the Community Com-munity Church, Shepherd of the Mountain Lutheran Church and St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Ranging from preschool ages through adults, the enrollment now exceeds 50, and more students are arriving each Sunday. Sunday School is from 9 until 10 a.m., with worship services at the Park City Community Church (Methodist affiliated) following at 10:15 a.m. During the worship hour, child care is provided for youngsters of kindergarten and below. For information regarding the program, call 649-8131. rtfn Counseling for low-income families Because of a recent federal grant, the Park City Family Counseling Institute is offering counseling services to low-income low-income families and single-parent families. Fees are on a sliding scale according to income. The Institute is open from 9 to 5 Monday through Friday and evenings by appointment. For eligibility requirements and further information, call 649-2426. (tfn) Attn: senior citizens The Park City Senior Citizens meet Mondays and Thursdays Thur-sdays for dinner at the center. (tfn) Family planning The Park City Community Clinic, a nonprofit family planning plan-ning program, will be holding clinics during February. Appointments Ap-pointments are available for morning, afternoon and evening clinics. The services offered include physical exams, PAP tests, counseling and education, VD screening, pregnancy testing and contraceptive supplies. Costs for these services are reasonable. Psychic workshop A psychic awareness workshop has been scheduled at Park City's Kimball Art Center Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 29 and 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The workshop will be taught by Mary St. Clair, a Salt Lake transplant who has taught psychic awareness workshops through Westminster College. She was also the winner of the National Enquirer's Psychic Picture contest held last year. As the winner of the contest, she successfully identified and described a secret photograph selected by the tabloid's editors. The workshop will cover meditation, getting in touch with your spirit guides, seeing your spirit guides, seeing auras, past lives regressions, psychometry, psychic protection, posture awareness, color healing, mental telepathy and seeing own past lives.
