Park City Rotary Club wants your nomination for Citizen of the Year Which person in town does the most for the community as a whole? Who can De counted on to give aid at a fire or accident, or to organize community events, decorate for town holidays, or lend a hand to the sick or elderly? Not an easy choice, is it? There are numerous people in Park City who volunteer their time and effort to make someone else's life just a little lit-tle nicer. But just one of those people can receive the first annual Park City Rotary Club's Citizen of the Year award. According to Rotary board member Tom Schwenk, the purpose of the award is to give recognition to someone who best exemplifies the club's motto: "Service above self." The award is not meant to honor a person who has excelled in a business or profession, said Schwenk, but to "seek out people who have done good things above their usual obligations and to recognize them for it." Schwenk pointed out that there are numerous people who volunteer for a host of things throughout town, and some of them are well-known well-known for their good deeds, and some are known to only a few. Since the Rotary does not profess clairvoyance in good deed doing, they are requesting that residents nominate their candidate for Citizen of the Year. "I want to see a lot of entries," en-tries," said Schwenk. "The written nominations don't have to be lengthy, but just contain the pertinent facts. Certainly there are a lot of people in the club (that could qualify), but we don't want to limit the scope. We want to have nominations for people throughout town." Nominations should include in-clude the name of the candidate, can-didate, address, telephone number, the reason for nomination, and the person sending the information and their telephone number. Nominations should be sent in by Jan. 12 to Citizen of the Year, Rotary Club of Park City, P.O. Box; 1115, Park City. The winner; will be selected selec-ted by the Rotary Club board of directors, with the award presented at a Rotary meeting at the end of January. A plaque bearing the winner's name will be displayed in a public place, said Schwenk. One of Santa's elves works in Park City all year long, and he or she deserves a pat on the back from the whole town.
