Authorities are looking for information about a man who was hired to lay carpet at the Park Station hotel, but apparently left with half the job. According to the Park City Police report, an unidentified unidenti-fied man picked up two rolls of carpet from the Western Wholesale Flooring company com-pany in Salt Lake on Nov. 25. He dropped off one roll to Park Station, but left with the other roll, worth $1,000. A local phone number left with his employees proved to be a fake, and fellow -workers said they havn't seen the man since Nov. 23. . Two Heber women reported re-ported that their car, parked in the underground lot of the Snowflower condominiums, was broken into and valuables valu-ables stolen. Pauline Anne Cummings told police that the window of the car was broken, and missing were a purse, day pack with brass buckle, wallets, a payroll check and an angora hat, among other things. Al least $200 in cash was in the wallets when they were taken Dec. 15. The Claimjumper restaurant res-taurant on Main Street reported that for the third time in recent months, cash was stolen from registers in the bar area and liquor storage room. As before, damage was done by kicking in cabinets that held the registers. Stolen Dec. 13 was $45 in cash, and an estimated $175 worth of damage was done to retrieve the money. Police said there were no signs of forced entry, which suggested that the suspect either was hiding in the building until it closed, or had a key. The Cowboy Bar on upper Main Street was robbed of $10 in change December 12. Police said a door had been kicked in to gain entrance to the building. A Bluebird bus owned by the Park City School District and driven by Barbara Burns was unable to negotiate negot-iate a turn from 6th Street onto Main Street and backed up and hit a parked car Dec. 15. The Audi, owned by Bob Brown, received $450 worth of damage, while the bus escaped with $50 worth of repairs. George Mawhinney and a passenger got a rude surprise Dec. 15 when the 1973 Volkswagen they were driving caught fire. According Accord-ing to the police report, the car stalled, then began to smoke. The pair got out, and the car caught fire. Damages Dama-ges totaled $2,000. Cheryl, who has been taking classes in ballet for the past seven years, was among 126 students at the Christiansen Ballet Academy in Salt Lake City to audition audi-tion in October for roles in the Nutcracker. She and 29 others passes the test. Since then, life for Cheryl Perry has been a succession of rehearsals, lasting from half an hour to 2"2 hours, as often as four times a week. And that's on top of her school work and regular ballet classes. Cheryl has two roles in the Nutcracker,' as a iage, and as an oriental servant. "Page is pretty basic," she said. "But oriental servant involves a lot of jumping." Cheryl agrees that it's too early for her to make any career decisions, but hasn't ruled out ballet. "Right now I'm not too sure," she said.
