There are currently 62 people enrolled in classes which were selected by popular demand. They include: in-clude: Gymnastics for Children, ages 4 through 8, taught by Gail McBride, who is a member of the Park City High School physical education department; Woodwork and Shop, taught by Captain "Moose" Smith, who is substituting for Larry Sutherland; Gourmet and International Cooking with Carolyn Goodworth; and Coed Co-ed Volleyball, coached by City Recreation Director Marilyn Rivas. There also has been much demand for an auto maintenance main-tenance course, which is slated to begin soon under the instruction of Johnny Fritch. (Johnny owned his own garage in Park City for 40 years.) Nan also plans to add sewing, mathematics and physical fitness to the curriculum. The Community Education program is a branch of the Utah Community Com-munity Education Association whose purpose is "to involve all people of a community in determining life-enriching processes for themselves and their community." com-munity." A moveable, variety spiced, musical feast, featuring as entrees Hoyt Axton, Michael Cooney, the Crusaders, Willie Nelson, Charlie Daniels and Country Joe McDonald. That big, warm bear, Hoyt Axton, kicks it off tonight when he and his entourage of good-time country-folk-rockers arrive at Kingsbury Hall (on the U of U campus) aboard their almost equally famous bus, the "Honeysuckle Rose." For some reason, plenty of tickets are still available, so come on down and joint the fun. Friday evening will find that definitive folk singer, Michael Cooney, returning to the Art and Architecture Auditorium at the U. Cooney, who started out picking at those early '60s "hoot nights" in Greenwich Village, is a walking folk music source book. They call him a "one-man folk festival" as he performs traditional songs from the British Isles and America, sea chanteys, chan-teys, ballads, blues and ragtime while accompanying accom-panying himself on harmonica, kazoo, concertina, concer-tina, and a variety of banjos and guitars. Tickets are only $3 and the concert gets underway at 8:30 p.m. Next in line are the already legendary "Crusaders." The finest in combo-jazz to soothe the savage beast. The all-star cast includes "Stix" Hooper on drums and percussion, the "genius" of Joe Sample on keyboards, Wilton Felder and various saxaphones, "Pops" Popwell on bass, and a young guitarist whose name I can't remember? The latter got the call when regular guitarist Larry Carlton decided he didn't want to tour. According to sources, the new guy is great and fits into both the ensemble and solo modes required of a "Crusader." Finally, the "Crusaders" are to perform in Utah! Kingsbury Hall, Tuesday, march 7. Thursday evening, the final course, complete with dessert, will be offered at the Salt Palace. Willie Nelson, survivor of the "Outlaw" hype and purveyor of gut-string blues poetry, will headline a rather interesting show. One. which will feature the loud southern:boogie of the Charlie Daniels Band and whatever it is Country Joe McDonald is offering up these days. According to Sherm Hayes, Waylon's vitamin-infested vitamin-infested bass picker, there has been fan in-1 teresting change in Willie's band. Bea Spears, Nelson's longtime bassist, has left the group and has been replaced by Chris Ethridge, original Flying Burrito Brother. I suppose you could do worse than an old burrito for dessert.
