Show 7T Page 12 Go Race At West The second nocturnal dual slalom race at Park West was a big success February 23 as 60 racers lined up at the Rates for the 6:30 p.m. start. "There were so many good racers, it was incredible!" race coordinator Jim Totora .aid. "All of the races were close, but there w ere eight or nine that were so close they had to run again. It came down to who could finish the course without a mistake." The frontrunners in Wednesday's Wed-nesday's race were Bill Skinner in the Pro class, John Guay in A, George Sideris in B, and Joe Dunnigan in C. The number one spot in the only women's division was captured by Lane Root. Because of the disappointing disappoint-ing turnout of women racers, the next event, to be held March 9, is being billed as Ladies Night. "Men are invited, too! Totora said. "But this is a special invitation to the ladies to come out and have some fun while they race." By Nan Chalat & Doc Murdock Summit County lolled in the sun last week. Cross-country skiers bushwacked in tee shirts and enjoyed clear skies during the full moon. One party trekked up to a movie set in Swift's Canyon and found that a roof had collapsed under un-der the weight of the sun-warmed snow. Sunn Classic vehicles have opened the road at Smith Moorehouse and are filming next season's Grizzly Griz-zly Adams. A state wrestling championship was won by Kamas student Gordon Taylor of South Summit High whose team took second in the Region XI Championships. North Summit took first place. The Meyer Gallery in Park City will feature a special exhibit of award-winning sculpture by Clark Bronson, who is from Kamas originally. The South Summit Community Education Center Cen-ter began its second term this month, offering classes in ceramics, rollerskating, sewing, woodwork and cabinet-making. The wildlife (and humans, too) is beginning to respond to longer days and it's good to see that the Larsens are rebuilding so quickly after their fire.
