Although not drawing large crowds at any given time, Holmes said that the atmosphere was just as he had wished, steady and economically profitable for most of the exhibitors. Tom Willett had pottery to sell, and there were several jewelers. Ralph Trethewey, calling himself a naturalist woodcarver, sat peacefully carving a bird as people filed by to take a look at his completed works. Although only two of approximately fifteen birds on display were for sale, Trethewey's main intention for having a flea Police Theft Items valued at a total of $360 were stolen from a vehicle parked in front of the T.M.I, on June 18. Stolen were three coats one jacket valued at $75, a jacket valued at $80, and a suede coat valued at $150. Also taken were tools valued at $30 and a pair of tennis shoes valued at $25. Broken Windows Broken windows were reported by Bill Mawhinney and Skyline realty. Mawhinney's broken window was termed a possible attempted burglary, however, entry was not estimated completed. The cost of damage was set at $22. On the night of June 12 a rock was thrown through a window at the Skyline Realty Office. It was a small window valued at $10 and the motive is unknown. B-B Blast On June 15 an unknown culprit shot B-B holes into a motor home on Monitor Dr. The estimated damages were set at $300. Attempted Bobbery At Chevron On Sunday between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. a window was broken in the garage section of the Chevron station. A till, usually left empty and open at closing time, was closed and broken into. There was no cash in the till and, as of yet, nothing else has been discovered as missing.
