Wasatch wasconsidered to have one of the toughest teams in the tournament, but Pleasant Grove came alive to hit their way to victory- The final score was Pleasant Grove 11, Wasatch 3. The Pleasant Grove Rockies won the Consolation Championship by defeating the Provo Mets in a close game from start to finish. The final score was Pleasant Grove Rockies 7, Provo Mets 6. The Salem Blue Jays battled off the Spanish Fork White Sox to win theMustangChampionship. It was an exciting game from start to finish. fin-ish. The White Sox held the Blue Jays in the first innings by a tough defense, but the power of the Blue Jay's bats took over and broke down . the White Sox. They finished the game with the ' final score Blue Jays 15, White Sox 5. TheMustangConsolation Championship Cham-pionship was won by the Pleasant Grove White Sox. It was a see-saw game with the Provo A's taking the lead, then Pleasant Grove would pass them, then the other went ahead. In the bottom of the sixth inning, ". Pleasant Grove was down 8 to 9 and came back to win, 10 to 9, in the most exciting game at the tourna-: tourna-: ment. Bill Woahn, White Sox coach, stated that he has never had such a fine bunch of players, and they all gave 110 percent to their team this year. Volleyball tryouts set Tryouts for the Pleasant Grove High School varsity and jayvee volleyball teams will be held Aug. 15 through 17 from 8 to 11 a.m. in the PGHSAgym. All girls in grades nine through 12 are invited to try out. Tryouts for the sophomore team will be held Aug. 29 and 31 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the PGHS A gym.
