"When you have a pet it can be difficult to keep your house clean and smelling as if you don't have a pet Or does it have to be difficult? Don Aslett, founder of Varsity Contractors, one of the nation's biggest cleaning companies and Sarah Smock of Merry Maids have a few suggestions to help. When odor is the problem even after you have washed all bedding and fabric your pet deals with you might try opening the windows. Even an hour of fresh air can do wonders. Fabric fresheners for carpet and upholstery are helpful, too. Aslett says that air will take 90 percent of doggie smells, out of the house. If it is just the dog bed that is stinky, use wash- A wastved... v.nd .once aeairv an odor ruMitratiinfJ- fal-i- . ric freshener contains enzymes that digest and consume bacteria; then they are gone. Try to encourage your pet to lounge in easily cleaned spots. Any faux fur or faux sheepskin type throw will be a draw to them to use. If they are determined in their choice of spot use a throw or towel to cover the area and then it can be removed and washed as needed. Pet hair seems to cling to couches, carpets and drapes. Even vacuuming doesn't always get it out. Aslett recommends using a 12" brush with crimped nylon bristles to rake the area. Those handy dandy pet rollers are great, too. And if you want creative, the bottom of a clean rubber tennis shoe will clean up much of the hair. For" the lovely paw prints they are apt to leave, place a 3-by4 foot nylon mat inside your dogs entry en-try way along with an old towel or baby wipes for quick paw cleanups. The nylon mats won't absorb odors like throw rugs and the baby wipes help with dirt and mud. These few simple ideas may help your home smell better and feel cleaner to you and any who come to visit you. Springville's Only Traditional Drug Store & Soda Fountain 489-6041 214 S. For instance, a conscientious agent knows to monitor a Multiple Listing Service (MLS) listing regularly and evaluate its ability to attract attention. This means, among other things, that if sellers place their homes on the market in the spring, and the MLS picture shows no leaves on the trees, it is time for a picture update. An outdated picture may seem like a small matter, but it can give potential buyers the impression that the house has been languishing on the market. To further increase the home's attractiveness to buyers, MLS pictures should show luxurious (or useful) features fea-tures t hat set the home apart from -others.
