The Red Devils put up a great fight against Lehi Julie Woolf and Mrs. Card " MJHS STAFF WRITERS " . This semester, the service ser-vice learning class at Mapleton Junior High worked on a project to help encourage good deeds on September 11th. In remembrance of the tragic events of 911, September 11th has been designated National Good Deed Day, and Mapleton Junior students were eager ea-ger to participate. Julie Woolf and Ryan Murry, students in Mrs. Card's Service Learning class, organized the project proj-ect at the school, with the help of the rest of the class. The students made 50 good deed posters and hung them up around the schobl to remind students to look for ways to lend a helping hand to others. Service Learning students stu-dents also passed out slips of paper to teachers, who wrote down the names of students caught performing perform-ing a kind act. The papers were collected, and the Service Learning class plans to create a large "Good Deed Display" in the commons area of the school. Mapleton students have not forgotten the selfless acts of the heroes of 911. Their sacrifice inspires us all to,try to make the world a better place.
