Fryer was born in Salt Lake City raised in Illinois and California. He received a BFA in Illustration Illus-tration from BYU in 1988 and an MFA in painting and drawing from BYU in 1995. He works mainly in oil, but also enjoys using a variety of mediums, including in-cluding watercolor, print-making print-making and digital. His love of landscapes has its roots in the many beautiful beauti-ful areas of the country in which he has lived, including in-cluding rural Vermont, and most recently, central Utah. This year Fryer entered en-tered two works in the Springville Museum of Art's Spring Salon 2007, which both won Juror's First Place Award. Fryer's Fry-er's works are simple, yet touching images of the places, objects and people he loves. The work of Jeffrey Hein is also on display and will run until October 16. Hein was born in New Windsor, Wind-sor, New York. J to study art until his first year of college, and then limited his work to numerous numer-ous drawings of his many childhood teachers. In 1992 Hein took his first drawing class at Ricks College, Idaho. Only a couple years later, he was diagnosed with cancer can-cer and set out on a year and a half of treatment and recovery. He believes his life experiences have influenced his work and have helped him to reach his goals as an artist. He later returned to school at the University of Utah, receiving an MFA in painting and drawing in 2002. Hein's work has been shown in a number of national shows and has been written up in a variety vari-ety of newspapers and national na-tional magazines, including includ-ing "Arts and Antiques," "American Art Collector" and "Southwest Art." Recently, Hein was chosen as a Special Guest Artist at the Springville Museum of Art's Spring Salon 2007, where his work "Twelve Shades" was featured on the cover Springville police report Springville police had 249 calls last week with 47 of those for animal problems. An exhibition of the work of Bonnie and Denis De-nis Phillips will run at the Springville Museum of Art until October 16. Bonnie and Denis have owned and operated the successful Phillips Gallery Gal-lery in Salt Lake City for over 35 years. Bonnie Bon-nie was born in Salt Lake City and graduated from the University of Utah in 1965 with a BA in political science. While she paints Op art, abstract expressionist expres-sionist and semi-abstract works, she is best known for her intricate geometric geomet-ric designs in watercolor on satin. Recently, Bonnie has begun to create mixed media works using airbrush, air-brush, painting, drawing, collage and handwriting techniques. Her work is represented in the Utah State Collection, the Salt Lake Arts Council and the Springville Museum of Art. Denis Phillips is also an artist. A University of Utah graduate, he paints 129 S. 100 West 3, Springville, Spring-ville, was arrested for three counts of vehicle burglary and two of theft after he was found going through a vehicle. James Fowler, 170 S. Pleasant Grove Blvd, Pleasant Grove, was arrested ar-rested for DUI after a traffic traf-fic accident.
