Show 10 SHS Wrestlers on top once again Nicole Pigott SHS Staff Writer The SHS Wrestling Team has yet again been invited to compete in the second toughest tournament tourna-ment in the nation, The Reno Tournament of Champions. This tournament tour-nament gives a chance for Springville varsity wrestlers to show the nation na-tion what great talent we posses and what a great wrestling program we have here. The Red Devils took 13th place out of the 87 teams competing in Reno. They were the highest ranked team from Utah, beating beat-ing arch-rivals Wasatch, who took state for 4A last year. Out of the Red Devil team, Jason Chamberlain took the coveted 1st place in the tournament with Colby Bradley and Jacob Rawle taking an amazing 8th place. Logan Wilson also did extremely well, coming within one match of placing. While the varsity team was off in Reno, Nevada, the J.V. team had a tournament tour-nament in Dixie. Brandon Routh SHS STAFF WRITER The 2006-2007 Springville Spring-ville High School G iris' Basketball Team is off to a shaky start. They are 1-9 and about to head into region re-gion games. Region games are where it all begins to count. The more wins you have in region games, the more likely you are to make it to the playoffs. If these girls want to make it to the playoffs, then they are going to have to take their play to the next level. Region 7 includes Payson, Orem, Lehi, and Timpview High School; all these teams are just about to enter region games. Boys Basketball: M Devils vs. VMngs Jessica Ah-Hing SHS STAFF WRITER Our boys gave it their all. The first quarter was intense; tying up every other oth-er basket. The first quarter quar-ter ended in a tie. Our Red Devils had their head in the game for the first three quarters. You could pretty much say they played with a lot of heart. These are the kind of games about which you could say, "Yeah, we lost, but in the end, we really won the game." There was plenty of determination from our team as they battled bat-tled the second-best team in the state. There was also some Personalized Springville UPS Store 224 S. But Morp is more than just Prom spelled backwards; the entire formal dance Prom concept is out the window. Last year, the Morp theme was 'Events throughout 2005.' This year, the theme is slightly more hilarious; the theme is 'The Pajama Bonanza' and student dance-goers will wear modest pajamas and slippers.
