Show Comments Satan, ACLU and pornography Editor The apostle Paul wrote: "For such are false apostles, apos-tles, deceitful workers transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore There-fore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed trans-formed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works." (II COR 11:14-16) Satan is the great master of deceit and subterfuge. Calling good evil and evil good is a ploy utilized by Satan. Satan offers a mixture mix-ture of just enough good to disguise his works of eviL In order to accomplish his evil designs here on earth of destroying families, fami-lies, Satan uses organizations organiza-tions which he gives good sounding and patriotic names like the American Civil liberties Union. Satan would like people to falsely think that the ACLU is an organization for good, but its covert and nefarious record testifies otherwise. Next to Hollywood Holly-wood and the entertainment entertain-ment industry, no affiliate of the DemocratSocialist Hedonist Political Party or Satan's left win "Axis of Evil" has done more to undermine un-dermine our moral foundations. founda-tions. Pornography in our culture is one of the great threats of Satan to our families and freedom. By its actions, the ACLU has been one of the foremost purveyors and defenders of pornography in our society. so-ciety. ; The outstanding moral Christian writer George Grant writing about the ACLU , comments: "Even North to Alaska - Part 2 Editor We left our wheelchair van in the safe parking lot of the Port of Bellingham (north of Seattle) and were taken on the ferry first in their wheelchair van. They loaded the three of us and our luggage and walker and drove us to the elevator on board. We were given our stateroom key by the Chief Purser and we headed head-ed to room 209". We opened the door to find double decker bunk beds, a nice window to look out, a sink and separate shower area and room to store your luggage lug-gage under the bed. We had some time to explore the ferry since we were the first persons on board. Who but the ACLU could actually defend child pornography? Or brutal and demeaning violent pornography? Or the relaxation of health precautions in the midst of the AIDS plague? Or further fur-ther exacerbation of the teen pregnancy epidemic? Or the complete legalization legaliza-tion and deregulation of prostitution? Even the most libertine and leftist politicos recognize recog-nize that such nefarious depravity is detrimental to the nation's vitality... The legal commitment of the ACLU to the fanatically twisted fringe of American culture-pornographers, gay activists, abortionists abortion-ists and other sexpert lib-erationist-is a pathetically self-defeating crusade that has confused liberty with license." Former California Lieutenant Lieu-tenant Governor John Harmer in his revealing book on pornography titled: "A War We Must Win," writes: "Even more dupUcitous and deceitful has been the continued assertion as-sertion by the allies of the pornographer-the Motion Mo-tion Picture Association of America, the ACLU, and the slick magazine publishers-that pornography pornog-raphy is neither harmful nor is there any evidence that pornography has any causal relationship to antisocial anti-social behavior. : The parents of those thousands of boys and girls who have been raped, wonderful viewing lounge near our room where you could sit in nice chairs and watch outside the bow (front). Springville Alaska was becoming a reality and the first thirty-eight thirty-eight hours were traveling along the Canadian coast toward our first stop at Ketchikan, Alaska. The Joy of the ferry over a cruise is that the ferry only draws 16 feet of water wa-ter and can go close to the land and through narrow passages. Our first narrow nar-row area was the lumber port of Vancouver Island (Campbell River) which has a huge lumber mill working around the clock. Vancouver Island was on our left (port) side heading head-ing north and this kept the ocean waves away from the ferry-thus a smooth trip and no problem with sea sickness. We slept most of Tuesday' Tues-day' night bordering Vancouver Van-couver Island and had brunch Wednesday near Goose Bay on the Queen FACTORY AUTHORIZED DEALER & SERVICE CENTER We offer service and tune-up on most fawnmowers or small engine yard tools! Police reporting Editor: There is a need for a consistent con-sistent policy of police reporting re-porting in Mapleton. I was surprised to see the name and address of a person whose infraction was that their dog was out. If you put in all the names and addresses of all the other people who had animal infractions, in-fractions, then you are being be-ing fair. If you only put in a name here and there, then you are unfairly drawing undue attention to that person. Having been an editor myself for many years, I know that it is an absolute necessity to have policies that are consistent and fair. Cheryl Merrick Mapleton (Editor's note: We do not set any policy. We print all the information given to us by the Mapleton Police Department.) Springville Police Springville Police had 200 cases last week with 20 calls for animal problems. On the Malaspina Ferry the wonderful won-derful cafeteria has good food selections and then you pay and carry your tray to a large dining area overlooking the water. Around 2:30 p.m. we were passing the Canadian fishing village of Campbell Island with the town of Bella Bella on both sides of the narrow passage. The captain asked everyone to go to the port (left) side and he was going to blow his whistle to greet the people of the town. It was exciting to see many persons per-sons coming outside their homes to wave and we all called out to them when the captain said the word-Hello! The Canadians only see the Alaskan Ferry weekly so it was still a "big deal" for the residents. After Wednesday night heading north we arrived in Ketchikan, Alaska at 7 a.m. It was time to see the town and we will share this in Part 3 of our North to Alaska trip. George H. We all get upset when we see people using cell phones while driving down the highway or when others bother us by answering their cell phones in a movie, restaurant or other public place. Wei hate them-ceD phones-and we love them. Most of us carry one, including our young children. Cell phones are everywhere, are getting smaller and smaller and do everything but wash the dishes. But there is something that cell phones are not quite up to speed on yet. There is a general public confusion on how 9-1-1 works when dialing from cell phones or Internet phones vs. a tra-ditional tra-ditional landline phone, Twothirds of people don't think landline phones are necessary nec-essary and 37 of people responding to a recent survey have ONLY cordless phones in their home. However, more than half do not understand that cordless phones rely on dectricity, and will not function if the power goes out. Furthermore, 9-M operators do not receive location information in-formation when a caller dials from a cell phone - it has to be communicated verbafly between both parties, which slows emergency response time. ; It is important for everyone to be aware that discontinuing discontinu-ing their landline phone service might not be a good idea. Technology is good, but not quite there. Calling 9-1-1 from a traditional, corded landline phone is truly the safest, most reliable way. If you have en emergency, remember to make that 9-1-1 cafl from your landline phone. license and no valid plates. Bernardo Flores.1573 E. 500 South, Spanish Fork, was arrested for a warrant.
