Show BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL NEWS by Dianne Zorn Baseball Bingham High's baseball team chalked up their second and third wins in league play during the past week. Last Thursday the Miners trounced the Murray Spartans 17 to I and on Monday defeated the Granger Lancers II to 9. The Miners Min-ers played Cyprus at Magna Thursday Thurs-day (yesterday). Next week's schedule of games is: Monday, April 20, Jordan at Bingham and Thursday, April 23, Tooele at Bingham. Track News Bingham has dono well for its second year of track. On Monday, April 6 the Miners placed second in a meet held with Cyprus and Tooele. Last Friday, Jordan and Tooele traveled to Bingham for a three-school three-school track meet. In this meet Jordan claimed the top honors with a total of 79' 2 points, Bingham placed second with 58 1)3 points and Tooele's points totaled 23 2 3. - , Girls Club Dance Tonight The Girl's Club dance, with the delightful theme "Picnic" will be held Friday night (tonight) beginning begin-ning at 8:30 p.m. The dress is apron and overall and the cost of tickets is $ 1 .00. Miso Vern Baer is the sponsor of the Girl's Club and Sharon Peterson is president this year. Commercial Club The Commercial Club held a cup cake sale at school April ) 4th to raise funds to purchase a 50-star United States flag which they will present to the school. On April 15th the club went on an-educational tour through several 1 Salt Lake business offices. A film was shown to any Bingham student who were interested in doing farm labor during the summer. Display A representative of the Nystrom Map and Chart Company set up a display in the faculty room immediately imme-diately after school on April 15th. Regional Chorus Festival The regional chorus festival was held at Bingham High School Thurs day. It began in the morning at 9:30. Reed Newbold is director of Bingham' choru thi year. Class Meeting Class meeting will be held Monday, Mon-day, April 20, for the election of delegates to the student election convention. State One-Act Play Meet Last Friday, Bingham' entry to the state one-act play festival wa presented at Brigham Young University. Uni-versity. On Saturday, April I Ith, Vicky Merrill, Jimmy Chadwick, Merlin Bateman and Dianne Zorn, accompanied by Miss Peggy Turner also traveled to BYU for the drama festival. All four students received ratings of some kind. These rating were: Jimmy Chadwick, humorous reading, good; Merlin Bateman, radio ra-dio reading, good; Vicky Merrill, retold stories, good, and Dianne Zorn, dramatic reading, superior. Two school in the A division tied for top honors in the meet. They were Highland High and Spanish Fork. Totaling up the most point in the B division was Brig-ham Brig-ham Young High. Key Club The Key Club held a meeting Wednesday during the second lunch period. Several member of thi club are planning to go to Burley, Idaho, for a convention.
