Show HOLY ROSARY CHURCH i 1 by Connie Mochizuki Bingham CYO Club Represented at DCCY Meet Eight enthuaiaetic member of the Bingham CYO club attended the 5th annual Diocesan Council of Catholic Youth convention held last Saturday,' April "II at Judge Memorial Mem-orial High School. Miss Claudia Murano, president, reported that I they attended mass at the Cathedral ' of the Madeleine after which they I traveled ' to ' Judge Memorial for breakfast and opening cession of the convention. Reports were heard from various officers with the group later attending the four youth workshops. Late in the afternoon, after-noon, members participated in the election of DCCY officers for the coming year. Dinner was held at 6:00 p.m. and the day .concluded with the convention dance. Members Mem-bers attending were: Pearl Milner, cultural activities chairman, who helped with the convention . program; pro-gram; Amelia Arronco, Betty Rodriguez, Rod-riguez, Betty Zdunich, Tommy Redmond, Red-mond, Dennis and David Arritola. Curia Meeting Mrs. Ralph Murano, president of Legion of Mary reports that a Curia meeting of ell praesidiums will be held at St. Francia Xavier Church thi Sunday, April 19 at 2:30 p.m. All active members are urged to attend. Salt Lake District Diocesan Meet Attended Eleven ladies representing the three parish altar societies journeyed journey-ed to the Salt Lake District Diocesan Dioce-san meeting last Tuesday evening at Our Lady of Lourde Church in Magna. Attending from Immaculate Conception were! Mrs. John Anderson, Ander-son, Mrs. Mae Redmond, Mrs. Ella Bills, Mrs. Louis Arritola, Mrs. John Muhar and Mrs. Ralph Murano; from Holy Rosary were: Mrs. Rita Ugarte and Mrs. Samuel Lovat; and from St. Paschal's: Mrs. Pete Gar-duno, Gar-duno, Mrs. Epemenio Trujillo, Mrs. Thomas Gonzales and Mrs. Joe Cruz. Highlights of the altar societies socie-ties activities for the year was presented pre-sented by Mrs. Muhar, Mrs. Ugarte and Mrs. Garduno. First Holy Communion Mass at Copperton Sunday Sunday, April 19, three youngsters young-sters of Immaculate Conception parish will receive First Holy Communion Com-munion at'the 8:00 a.m. mass. Saturday, May 16 the day will commence with Pontifical Mas at 8:45 at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. Two round table discussions dis-cussions will be held in the morning on "Our Civic Responsibilities" and "Making Ourselves Crow" at the Cathedral school. The 1:30 luncheon lunch-eon will be held at the Newhouse hotel ballroom at which time presentation pre-sentation of the Catholic Mother of the Year award will be made by the Most Rev. Bishop Duane C. Hunt. Miss Marie Thompson, provencial director will be the guest speaker and new officer will be introduced. Banquet ticket will be sold for $3.50 luncheon $2.00 and registration regis-tration is 50c. Mrs. Lee Diamanti, diocesan president urges each organization to have a good representation stating stat-ing that thi i our one opportunity each year to meet and know other Catholic women in Utah, and alo to feel and demonstrate the strength of our Council in our diocese, to share experiences on common problems pro-blems ao that we may promote Catholic action. O HOLY ROSARY CHURCH (Continued from page one) St. Paschal' Altar Society To Meet April 22 St. Paschal' Altar Society will meet next Wednesday, April 22 at 7:00 p.m. All members are urged to be present to make final plans for the parish carnival. Holy Rosary Altar Society Regular meeting of Holy Rosary Altar Society will not be held next Thursday, April 23. Members are requested to be at the Civic Center to a si. it the carnival committees in I setting up and decorating booths. Work will commence at 5:30 p.m. but members are asked to come at their convenience. Committee chair man for the novelty-fancy work and apron booth will work out a schedule sched-ule and members will be notified in the coming week. Carnival Ticket Committee To Meet Wednesday There will be a meeting of the Carnival ticket committee Wednesday, Wednes-day, April 22 at BCO Hall at 6:30 p.m. Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Convention Coming Next Month The parish altar societies received receiv-ed a letter this week informing them of the coming Diocesan Council Coun-cil of Catholic Women convention to be held May 15 and 16 at the Newhouse Hotel. Friday's schedule includes registration, reports by district president and diocesan chairmen, work clinics on youth and public relations. Banquet at 6:30 p.m. at which time the Most |
