Show Thursday, November 10, 2005 SPRINGVILLE HERALD 13 Obituaries Betty Jean Pulliam Isaacson Betty Jean Pulham Isaacson, Isaac-son, loving wife, rriother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister returned to her Heavenly Father November No-vember 6, 2005, with her family by her side. She fought a brave and courageous coura-geous battle with cancer. Born April 29, 1928 to Archibald and Essie Pulham in Costa Mesa, California, Betty was the sixth of seven children. Her childhood was spent in Glendale, California. Her family moved to Orem when she was a young teenager, but she never outgrew out-grew her love of the ocean. Betty graduated from Lincoln Lin-coln High School. She married mar-ried her high-school sweetheart, sweet-heart, Leon Isaacson, May 24, 1946 in Orem. Their marriage mar-riage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. They enjoyed 59 years of marriage. mar-riage. Betty loved being with her husband, surrounded by their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family camp-outs, parties and get-togethers were a treasured part of her life. She leaves a legacy of traditions, tradi-tions, all centered around the family. She enjoyed spending the winter months in St. George with her husband and made many long-lasting friendships friend-ships with other "Snowbirds". "Snow-birds". Betty had a special love of San Diego, where she and Leon spent many memorable vacations, where she loved walking on the beach, listening listen-ing to the surf, and gathering seashells. She was a talented artist who enjoyed oil painting, wa-tercolors, wa-tercolors, china painting, and making porcelain dolls. She enjoyed sharing her talent with others as a teacher. She taught,, porcelain dolls, sewing lessons and many other hobbies to those around her. She made many crocheted tablecloths, wedding wed-ding dresses, quilts and blessing gowns, and entered them in the State Fair, where she won many blue ribbons and sweepstake awards. Many enjoyable hours where also spent quilting with her friends in St. George. Betty was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in Barn dance Come join the Payson Civic Chorale at their Boot Scootin' Barn Dance on Friday, Nov. 18, 7 p.m. at the Spanish Fork National Guard Armory, 2751 N. Main (Next to the airport, in Spanish Fork). Local celebrity and dance caller Mark Robbins will be on hand for line dancing, the Virginia Reel, and other barn dances-free dances-free lessons, too! Some of her callings included assignments assign-ments in the Relief Society, Mutual (Young Women), Cub Scouts, and Ward Girl's Camp Director. Though she faced many trials during the last years of her life, her testimony never wavered. She faced her challenges chal-lenges with a prayer in her heart and a smile on her face. She is survived by her devoted de-voted husband, Leon; four children: Mel (Sherrie) Isaacson Isaac-son of West Jordan; Dr. Ed (Marcia) Isaacson of Alpine; Patty (Rick) Robinson of West Jordan; and Judy (Dale) Ainge of Orem; 14 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren with two additional addi-tional great-grandchildren on the way; two brothers, Ken (Dona) Pulham and Reese (Marilyn) Pulham, both of Orem; brother-in-law, Merlin (Carol) Isaacson; sisters-in-law, Carole (Blaine) Cordner and Arlene (LeRoy) Watkins. She was receded in death by her parents; brothers, Richard and Charles Pulham; and sisters, Faye Lunceford and Evelyn Frandsen. The family sincerely thanks the numerous doctors, doc-tors, nurses, neighbors and friends who have helped Betty Bet-ty in so many kind and generous gen-erous ways. A special thanks goes to IHC Hospice, especially espe-cially Vickie Hardman, for the special care and assistance assis-tance during her last days.
