Chriopratic Can Help Omega Fatty Acids Dr. Richard Olson D.C In the previous article I discussed dis-cussed omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids. As stated earlier, the American diet consists of high amounts of omega 6 fatty fat-ty acids, but low amounts of omega 3 fatty fat-ty acids. We should have an equal amount (a 1:1 ratio) of the omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids. Eating foods with omega 3 fatty acids is important in the development develop-ment and prop er function of our bodies. In this article I would also like to further discuss these two different fatty acids and describe how the improper ratios between these omega 1 -d Tired of yo yo dieting? Increased inflamation in-flamation will also increase the amount of pain that a person is likely to feel with injuries and disease. With our current diets, we are eating ourselves into a inflammatory in-flammatory state; making ourselves more likely to sense pain, and develop one of the chronic diseases that plague or society. How does a diet that is high in omega 6 fatty acids cause all these problems? Both omega 6 and omega 3 fatty acids are used by the body to produce substances known as prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are chemical mediators used by the body to produce specific effects according to the type of prostaglandins. Those prostaglandins that come from omega 6 fatty acids are pro inflammatory while those prostaglandins from omega 3 fatty acids lower the amount of inflammation the body experiences.
