The couple plan to be married on Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. An open house will be held on Thursday, Sept. 30, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mapleton White Church, corner of Maple and Main Streets in Mapleton. The couple will be further fur-ther honored at a reception on Friday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Hinckley Farm, 3500 N. 2200 West, Salt Lake. The bride-to-be graduated from West High" School and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Czech Republic. The prospective groom graduated from Elizabeth Packer, Andrew Nielsen to marry Sat. Andrew Clark Nielsen and Elizabeth (Lizzy) Packer are pleased to announce their upcoming marriage on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2004. Andrew is the son of Susie Nielsen of . Payson, Utah (formerly of Springville) and Clark Nielsen of Pueblo, Colorado. The prospective groom graduated from Springville High School and has attended Utah tate University and Eastern Arizona College majoring in finance. Lizzy is the daughter of Stan and Isabel Packer of Sierra Vista, Arizona. The bride-to-be is a 2003 graduate of Quartz Hill High School in Palmdale, California. She also has itendedUSUand EAC. Dollhouse Festival to benefit Children's Justice Center The 6th Annual Dollhouse Festival is underway in Utah County with dozens of volunteers volun-teers busily building and fur nishing dollhouses for viewing view-ing and selling at the event, with proceeds going to the Children's Justice Center in Provo. The Dollhouse Festival will be held at the Provo Marriott all day Friday and Saturday, Oct. 22 and 23, where doll house enthusiasts can view and buy dozens of handmade dollhouses and hundreds of dollhouse accessories, as well as quilts, toys, games, children's clothing, baby items, home crafts and holiday holi-day decorations. It is one of the biggest, best-attended pre-hohday boutiques of its kind in the valley. All items are donated and all proceeds go to the Children's Chil-dren's Justice Center in Provo. Pro-vo. The dinner will include entertainment, entertain-ment, door prizes and a silent auc tion. The Children's Justice Center Cen-ter in Provo was formed in 1991 to address the ever increasing in-creasing needs of abused Gene and Kathleen Johnson John-son of Springville, Utah celebrated cele-brated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on September 24, 2004 by hosting a family party. They were married on September 24, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. The couple are active in the LDS Church where Gene has served as a bishop. They are currently serving a service ser-vice mission at the Brigham Young University Family History Center. Gene taught school at the Springville Middle School, Grant School and Brookside School for 36 years. They are the parents of four children: Marty, Jeffrey (deceased) and Ann, Dell and Cynthia and Tim and Bren-da. Bren-da. They have 17 grandchildren grandchil-dren and three great-grand-chilldren. Statistics show that one girl in four and one boy in six will be molested in Utah Valley Val-ley this year. More than 2,000 cases of child abuse and neglect are reported in Utah Valley each year. V y Gene and Kathleen Johnson Rhonda Hansen eightieth Rhoda Hansen will celebrate cele-brate her eightieth birthday on Friday, Oct. 1, 2004 at a family dinner in her honor. She was born in Brigham City, Utah to Parley and Ven-na Ven-na Jeppsoa ' Rhoda was raised on a fruit farm where she would pick fruit in the morning and run the family fruit stand on Main Street the rest of the day. This is where she met her future fu-ture husband, Roland Hansen. They were married June 21, 1940 and later sealed in the Provo LDS Temple. She went from being a city girl and running a fruit farm to a country girl helping milk 30 to 40 cows twice a day on a farm in Park Valley. She and her husband lived in various vari-ous places in Box Elder Coun ty until Roland received a transfer to Mapleton in the fall of 1948. When their family was raised, Rhoda would go with her husband and camp wherever wher-ever his work as a government govern-ment trapper took him. In 1969 Roland was transferred to Price. They lived there for about ten years, until his retirement, re-tirement, when they moved back to Maple'ton. They are the parents of five children: Beverly (Paul) Dib-ble Dib-ble Karen (Boyd) Thomas, Marleen (Roy) Sheppard, Kent Hansen and Debra Lynn (deceased). They have 15 grandchildren, 31 greatgrandchildren great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Her family says, "Happy birthday Mom from all of us." Rhoda Hansen Elaine Peirce eighty years ,.4 Elaine M. Peirce D.U.P. Camp Springville D.U.P. Camp Springville met at the home of Erma Davis on Sept. 9. Hostess was Erma Davies, with co-hostess co-hostess Karen Hooper. "Ancestral "An-cestral History" was given by Marie Hjorth (daughter of Erma) on John Prichard Squire. The lesson was by Nancy Cowley on "Settlement of Southeastern Idaho." The song led by Marcia Beach, "I Cannot Sing the Old Songs." Special congratulations are in order for Elaine M. Peirce who celebrated her 80th birthday in Logan, Utah at a family gathering on September Septem-ber 24, 2004. Elaine was born on September Septem-ber 30, 1924 and was raised and educated in the Springville-Provo area. She has two sisters, LaRae Gluch (Ken) of Caldwell, Idaho and LuAnn Witt (Norm) of St. George. She married Robert W. Peirce on July 16, 1943 in Cor-vallis, Cor-vallis, Oregon as Bob was preparing to go overseas. Their union was later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised three children: Gary, of Midway; Diane Robbins (Gordon) of Logan and Russell (Aloha) of Kaysville. Bob passed away in 1974 and Elaine moved to Logan in late 1989. She enjoys visiting and caring car-ing for her 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Active in the LDS Church, she served a mission in Bristol, England in 1992, has volunteered volun-teered at the hospital and now participates in the local DUP Chapter. She maintains her vigor through her daily walk and continues to render service and kindness.. She has a posi tive outlook on life and looks forward to each and every day. Happy Birthday!
