Show pngbtle I, J The staff at the Springvillel Museum of Art have been busy the past week taking in entries for the upcoming Spring Salon, the biggest art exhibit of the year at the museum. They had over 877 entries that were then juried on Monday by the two shown above. The jurors are Natalie Petersen, who holds degrees from the University of Arizona and BYU, and has been working as Associate Director in Springville, and Gary F. Metzner, who is midwest vice-president of Sotheby's Auction House in Chicago and director of 19th and 20th Century American and European Art. They are standing in front of one of the pieces that was included in-cluded in the show. It is by artist David Meikle and is titled, "Mapleton Fields." f, ft" 1 4 " Some 350 youngsters entered the Wendy'sUtah JAZZ Artwork contest and Camille Swan of Springville ws the winner in the 8-11 age group with this drawing. Student wins JAZZ artwork contest Camille Swan of Springville won first place in the Wendy'sUtah JAZZ Artwork contest for her age group, 8-11, in that inaugural event. She drew a close-up of the Utah JAZZ Bear's head with a headband head-band that sported the Utah JAZZ logo on a basketball. Swan received four, lower bowl JAZZ tickets for the game against Phoenix. And she will be treated to a pre-game dinner, get her picture taken with a JAZZ player during game warm-ups, receive an autographed auto-graphed basketball during an awards ceremony at halftime and get $100 in Wendy'f gift certificates. Her artwork will be featured on the tickets of at least one home game next seasoa The contest was open to children chil-dren 4 ro 15 years old in Utah, Wyoming, Nevada and Montana. Swan turned 12 years old three days after the contest ended. Over 350 entries were received. She taked private art lessons from Cyd Crockett in Orem. Springville street projects Now that spring is here, the Springville City asphalt plant will be opening and the Streets Department De-partment will start work on the following projects: - Rebuild 1050 East from Center Cen-ter Street to 200 North - Rebuild 1750 East and 1850 East from 400 South to 600 South - Resurface 1300 East from - S . f Camille Swan Center Street to Canyon Road and 1700 East - Rebuild the cul-deac at 1300 East and 500 South - Correct drainage problem at 1355 South and 400 East Work has already begun on our sidewalk and pothole repairs. Dispatchers are responsible to know five, major public safety computer programs, be certified in providing emergency medical help to residents over the telephone, tele-phone, and they handle radio traffic and telephone calls during multiple emergencies usually while working alone.
