Daniel Bolz and SDBA committee chairs made a brief presentation to the group and announced that the UDOT grant of $500,000 has been approved! The group welcomed questions and concerns about the Main Street program and the window of opportunity to coordinate efforts with UDOT's plan to resurface Main Street this summer. A request for clarification of funding was brought up in the meeting and councilper-son councilper-son Dianne Carr addressed the question saying that the city has approved a match to the UDOT grant for improvements im-provements on Main Street with class C road funds that are a result of the gasoline tax. We visited dozens doz-ens of cities, including checking on their schools and attending their youth activities activi-ties and church meetings. We wanted a beautiful, rural setting where the people were both God-fearing and had a health work ethic. We wanted to have neighbors neigh-bors equally committed to the principal of "Family First with Nothing Second," as we were. When we found Map-leton, Map-leton, we felt we had found the ideal place to raise our children. After 26 years, we are convinced that whatever dreams we had of finding the ideal community, Mapleton exceeded our expectations. We are close to all needed services and conveniences while being surrounded by nature's beauty. Especially Maple Mountain. We were also delighted to discover that our children were hearing the same lectures lec-tures on values at their friend's homes as they were being given in our home. We love Mapleton. Especially Es-pecially its good people. As I have read about the recent controversies relating Tax help It is tax time and many people need some help and some supplies. Because of that the Springville Library has available some of the most common tax forms in their lobby. The IRS has a tax site where you can find answers to some of the most frequently frequent-ly asked questions. See www.irs.gov. There is an IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center at 173 E. 100 North in Provo. It is a one-stop resource for tax help and solutions to tax problems. They are open every business day from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m and no appointment is necessary. Other services on a walk-in, walk-in, non-advance appointment basis include: answers to your tax questions; information informa-tion about your tax account; help preparing your basic individual income tax return funds the city has for building build-ing improvements. The proposed plan will include replacing the existing center lane with a tree-lined median to help slow traffic and make the shopping district dis-trict more pedestrian friendly. friend-ly. The city will also add bike lanes and repave the crosswalks with faux-cobble-stone or stamped asphalt pavement. The renderings of the proposed re-design were shown and indicate circular designs at Center Street, 200 South and 400 South. These will be decorative emblems in the pavement and not roundabouts.
