Citizens The Springville Middle School would like to congratulate congrat-ulate the special and super citizens for the month of January 2003. Five classes were chosen as special citizens citi-zens and treated to banana splits, Miss Peterson, Mrs. Spillner, Mr. Dearden, Mr. Peterson and Mr. Wright's seventh period classes. The sixth grade super citizens for the month of January are Alyssa Hardman, McKell Priest, Heather Wolz, Corbin Critchfield, Eric Ohman and Lane Stil-well. Stil-well. The seventh grade super citizens for the month of January are Kandice Kirk-ham, Kirk-ham, Hannah Serr, Christine Vaughan, Ryan Newell, Alec Wiscombe and Phillip Swan. The super citizens were treated to lunch with the principal, Mr. Rasband. Alyssa is the daughter of Jon and Elizabeth of Springville. Spring-ville. Her hobbies are reading, read-ing, babysitting, playing basketball and power tumbling. tum-bling. McKell is the daughter of Dave and Susan Priest and granddaughter of Ferrus and Beth Larsen, all of Mapleton, and great-granddaughter of Bernice Beardall of Springville. Spring-ville. She enjoys dancing, playing the piano and playing volleyball. Heather is the daughter of Darren and Michelle Wolz of Springville, and the granddaughter grand-daughter of Betty and Scott Briggs of Mapleton. She enjoys playing basketball, soccer, tennis, swimming, playing the piano and riding horses. Corbin is the son of Mark and Natalie Critchfield of Springville. He enjoys aggressive ag-gressive inline skating, science, sci-ence, building, playing golf and basketball. Eric is the son of Lynn and Krystine Ohman of safety matters Look up before you go up. Springville. He enjoys reading, read-ing, science, computers and scouts. He also plays the trumpet. Lane is the son of Ron and Tammy Stilwell of Mapleton. Map-leton. She enjoys horseback hors-eback riding, friends, going to the mall, reading, playing soccer and softball. Hannah is the daughter of Casey and Lori Serr of Mapleton. Map-leton. He enjoys reading, writing, going to the movies, playing Super Nintendo and playing basketball, tennis, football and ping-pong. Phillip is the son of Scot and Edie Swan of Mapleton. He enjoys reading, playing basketball, soccer, football and neighborhood baseball. He also plays the saxophone. Congress first overrode a Presidential veto on March 3, 1845. r& Andrew Davis Meek, son of Kevin and Michele Meek, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He is a member mem-ber of the Mapleton Third Ward and Troop 127. His Eagle project was to rebuild a portion of the Andrew Ridge Trail for the U.S. Forest Service. He received his award at a Court of Honor held Jan. 18, 2003. i tt,', -i Matthew David Wilkinson, son of Matthew J. and Suzanne Wilkinson, received re-ceived his Eagle Scout Award on Feb. 2, 2003. He is a member of Troop 127. Matthew's Eagle project included painting the picnic tables and park benches for the Mapleton City parks. Special thanks to Kwal Howell's for donating paint and supplies and to the many volunteers who participated! par-ticipated! Springville Middle School seventh grader Kyle Tuft was honored recently for receiving the highest score in the school's American Mathematics Competition. Kyle will be part of the school's State Math Team. To qualify as cardboard, stiff paper must be more than 0.006 inch thick.
