Susan explained what is involved in training Yuba, the 11 month old dog who came with them, for a seeing eye dog. The members saw what can be accomplished by getting a dog ready for the new owner, new level of freedom and the experience of being in a group situation. It was interesting interest-ing to hear that by law, Guide Dogs have the privilege to go anywhere where people go including restaurants, churches, etc. Yuba performed beautifully and is almost ready to go to the next stage of training. Darol Gardner was toastmaster for the evening. This week Brent Haymond will be the toastmaster and will speak on the world after September 11.
