OBITUARIES Lucille Wood Lucille Miller Weight Wood. 77. died Thursday, January 20, 2000 at her home in North Ogden. Utah. She was born September Sep-tember 4, 1922. in Delta, Del-ta, daughter of Olive May Cook and John August Miller. Lucille graduated from Spring-ville Spring-ville High School in 1940 and attended classes class-es at Brigham Young University. Lucille married Woodrov Weight on June 13, 1941 in the Manti LDS Temple. They were later divorced. di-vorced. She married Frederick T. Wood on January 29, 1983 in Honolulu. Hawaii, and they were sealed in the Cardston, Alberta Temple Tem-ple on June 27, 1991. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints, having served as a teacher and in leadership positions in most of the organization s. She loved working with the children and teachers at Brookside Elementary School, Grant School and at the Remedial Center for children with communication communi-cation disorders. Lucille worked as an assistant librarian at the Spring-ville Spring-ville Public Library; retouched photographs for many years for Cast-Ieton's Cast-Ieton's Studio; and was a volunteer at Utah Valley Hospital for five years where she served on the board of that organization. organiza-tion. Lucille loved painting, paint-ing, writing poetry and books. Lucille is survived by her loving husband, Frederick Thomas Wood, North Ogden. She loved her wonderful family of five sons and one daughter: Larry (Karin) Weight, Provo; Randy Weight, Provo; Danny Weight, Spring-ville; Spring-ville; Lynn (Carol) Weight, Lehi; Shirl (Antoinette) Weight, North Ogden; Susan Lucille Wood (Steve) Bartholomew, Springville; four stepsons: step-sons: Kevin (Claudia) Wood, LaPorte, Indiana; Kent (Laura) Wood, Calgary, Alberta, Canada; Cana-da; Gary (Annie) Wood, Duluth, Minnesota; and Brian Wood, deceased; 25 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Lucille is also survived sur-vived by one sister and two brothers: Margie Boyack, Springville.; Richard Miller, Provo; and Donald Miller, Brownsville, California. Funeral services were held Monday at 1 p.m. at the North Ogden 11th Ward Chapel, 3352 N. 1050 East, with Bishop David Petersen officiating. Interment, Ben LomondNorth Ogden Cemetery. Pauline S. Pauline Sorensen Boyer, 56, passed away Sunday morning, January Janu-ary 23. 2000, at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center after a valiant battle with a lingering illness. She was born April 29. 1943, to Owen J. and Mozelle Sorensen in Logan, Utah. Westside Elementary held their annual Spelling Bee on Jan. 19. There were many participants from the fourth and fifth grades, and the bee took longer than in the past due to the superb spelling abilities of the participants. Th final winner was Kylie Serinersheim after her successful spelling of "coordinate." She will continue on to the Nebo School District Spelling Bee to be held on Jan. 26. They are proud of Kylie and know she will represent Westside well. She was a member of the Springville Kolob 8th Ward. During her years of church service, Pauline was a devout Visiting Teacher, Sunday School Teacher, Young Women's Teacher, Primary Pri-mary Teacher. Relief Society President Stake Relief Society Counselor, Counsel-or, Ward Bulletin Specialist Spe-cialist and, most recently, recent-ly, a Compassionate Service Leader. Pauline was inspirational, inspira-tional, in her keeping of records, maintaining a daily journal for nearly 40 years, never missing a day even when she was very ill. She also was dedicated to writing letters of hope and encouragement en-couragement to many people each week. She had a very special relationship rela-tionship with her mother, whom she loved dearly. Pauline wrote letters and telephoned her mother every week of her married mar-ried life without fail. To countless numbers num-bers of people, old and Pauline S. Boyer young, Pauline was the perfect example of the pure love of Christ. Her legacy of unwavering faith and love of the gospel will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. She is survived by her husband, Stanley, three children: Robert S. (Kristina) of Spanish Fork; Juliann, and Michael Mi-chael O.; one grandson, Ashton R-.; her mother, Mozelle Sorensen of Mendon; brother, Norman Nor-man (Myra) Sorensen .of Logan; and sister, Do-reen Do-reen (Blaine).
