A reception will honor the couple that evening from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the church located at 1440 E. 900 South, Springville. The bride-to-be is the daughter of Donna Holmes and Glenn K. Holmes, she graduated from Springville High School and American Institute of Medical and Dental Technology. She works for Utah Valley Pediatrics. Her fiance is the son of DeRay E. Taylor and Wayne and Caroldine Gilbert. He graduated; ' from Gunnison High School and served an LDS mission in Des Moines, Iowa. He is employed by-Excel by-Excel Graphics. The meeting is free and all music teachers are invited to attend. Mike Carson has worked in the retail print music business for the past 24 years. He is an active pianist, organist and cellist. He also played the cello in the Utah Valley Symphony for 15 years. He started teaching piano when he was 16 years old. He studied piano with Paul Pollei and Robert Smith. He recently retired from the retail music business at Keith Jorgensen's Music Store and now works as a private instructor, accompanist and studio pianist. The Nebo Chapter of UMTA is a division of the Music Teachers Teach-ers National Association (MTNA). We have hundreds hun-dreds of chapters across the country, and we are inviting you to visit our chapter here. : Local chapters plan monthly meetings with interesting speakers speak-ers and discussions, park play days, special outings for mothers and their children, family get- Artist's Guild to meet here October 29 by Betsy Baird The Utah Valley Artist's Guild will meet October 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the ArtShop, 200 E. 442 South. Springville. Members and non-members are invited to attend. The An Guild invites members mem-bers to bring paintings to display and for critique after the meeting. The guest artist will be Doug Johnson from Pleasant Grove who paints in gouache. Doug is a native Utah artist who obtained his education through scholarships scholar-ships at Snow College. Utah State University and received a Master of Arts Degree from Brigham Young University. He is an avid outdoorsman and has translated this love into the art he produces. He has a studio in Pleasant Grove filled with Native American artifacts, trophy animals and skins of animals he has hunted. He describes himself as a painter who is noted for luminosity luminos-ity and strength of expression. He paints landscapes peopled with Native Americans and horses. His work has been published in many art magazines including Southwest Art and Who's Who in American Art, and the LDS Church History Museum. He is a member of the American Water-color Water-color Society and the Northwest Rendezvous Group. The Annual Utah Valley Invitational Show will be up until November 1 at the Old County Courthouses. Due to complications the Art Guild meeting for November will be held on Tuesday, November 11. This is a change. Memberships in the guild are still available. Dues are $20 per year, January to December. Please mail your membership dues to UVAG, 240 N. Center. American Fork, UT 84003. The Art Guild meeting for September will be held on the 24th. togethers and activity groups like play groups, arts 'n crafts, monthly mon-thly MOMS Night Out and babysitting baby-sitting coops.
