The public is invited to view 26 original Rockwell paintings and drawings that will be on exhibit from now to November 30. A fundraiser for the Hafen-Dallin Hafen-Dallin Volunteer Guild at the museum, it is one of the few shows that require an admission. Funds raised will go to help build a new wing at the museum. In addition to regular museum hours, the museum will also be open from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday nights during November. ' Volunteer meeting atSHS tonight Governor Mike Leavitt has declared the week of October 20 to 25 as Volunteer Week in Utah. This is Utah's effort to increase yolunteerism in our communities as requested by President Clinton last year. Former Joint Chief Colin Powell will kick off the activities with a speech on the state capital steps Wednesday, October 22, at 11 a.m. The public is invited. As a follow up to the days events a special meeting for the Springville-Mapleton area will be held at Springville High School that evening at 6:30 p.m. all members of the community are encouraged to attend. A program sent out by the governor will be presented and refreshments will be served. Recognizing this is also "Meet the Candidate" night in Springville, Spring-ville, the meeting will be short so people desiring to make both meetings may do so. An agenda of activities for the coming com-ing year will be discussed and committees will be formed to sponsor each activity. Some proposed activities include: a meet the author night with a local author, a girls and their dolls tea party, the annual book sale during Art City Days and fundraisers to make needed purchases for the library. Those in attendance will be able to suggest other activities and help them get scheduled. Everyone with an interest in supporting the public library is welcome to attend.
