The Kiwanis Club of Springville was treated to an old-time picture fest when Rell Francis, left, spoke and told the story of the Scofield Mine disaster through the eyes and pictures of George E. Anderson. Anderson is a very famous turn-of-the-century photographer whose pictures are in great demand. Rell mentioned he is working with PBS doing a special on George E. Anderson. Toastmaster for the evening was Glenn AUeman, right. Next week's program will be toasted by Mac Brimhall and will feature Bill Barns from Utah Transit Authority. Wilson Leah Perry Wilson, 81, passed away at the Utah Valley Hospital February 2, 1997 of pneumonia. She was born June 22, 1915 to Horrace B. and Ariel Warren Perry in Maple-ton, Maple-ton, Utah, the youngest of six children. She married Lawrence (Lud) Wilson June 17, 1932 in Provo. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple September 3, 1952. Leah was a member of the LDS Church. She served in teaching and leadership positions irt several auxiliaries and was a faithful temple, patron for many years. One of her greatest joys and achievements was doing genealogy work for her Wilson ancestors from England. She did many hours of research and temple work on their behalf, writing their histories and compelling them into a book for future generations genera-tions to enjoy. Leah and Lud liked being together, they Casper E. "Tex" Carlen Casper Evans "Tex" Carlen, 82, died January 30, 1997 at his home in Springville. Utah from cancer. He was born July 22, 1914 in Daniel. Utah to Charles and Harriet Casper Carlen. He married Eugena McDonald on December 24, 1934 in Provo. She preceded him in death November 23, 1993. Tex retired from Geneva Steel after 34 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching the city league baseball games. Bob Wilson. - Brigham City; a sister, Elda Johnson, Spanish Fork. Leah was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dena and Ardell; brothers. Warren and infant Lavon; two grandsons, grand-sons, Jeff and Tim; granddaughter. Abbey; a special daughter-in-law, Thelma.
