Nathan Jensen, right, was the speaker at Kiwanis Club on Thursday and gave an informative talk about investing and what to look for and what to watch out for. Jensen, a Representative for Beneficial Life Insurance, also gave some statistics and history on his company and the way its viewed by others in the business and on Wall Street. Much of his talk was centered around interest rates and what investing certain amounts would do for you later on. Lynette Catherall, left, was toast-mistress. OBITUARIES Delmer Lewis Edmonds, Edm-onds, age 75, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Saturday morning, January 13, 1996, at his home in Mapleton, after a long struggle with diabetes. He was born January 31. 1920 in Prague, Oklahoma, to John Wiley and Minnie Sela Edmonds. His' wife was greatly enriched by his faithful companion, Othelia Broughton, whom he married June 7, 1940, in Claremore, Oklahoma. They joined the LDS Church in 1948 and one year later their marriage was sealed for eternity in the St. George Temple. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he had a challenging start in life when his mother died three weeks after his birth. As a child, he experienced the hunger and deprivation of the Depression years in Oklahoma. Yet, through sheer will and determination, determina-tion, he survived those early years with a positive, posi-tive, adventurous zest for life. At age 16 he had to leave home and support himself in order to attend and graduate from high Dorothy Dorothy Lufkin Davenport Hall, 91, died at her home in Fairview, January 13, 1996. She was born August 14, 1904 in Hood River, Oregon to Franklin Remington and Kate Naomi Lufkin Davenport. Daven-port. Dorothy was a member mem-ber of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints. She met Theron S. Hall while attending Brigham Young University Univer-sity and they were married mar-ried in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in November. Novem-ber. 1927. He died at their home in Springville in 1976. She is survived by children: Barbara H. Clark, J. Clifton (Cathy) Hall. Phyllis H. Ioane, Delmer L. Edmonds school m 1939. He excelled at boxing and won the Oklahoma State Golden Gloves before going on to college at Oklahoma State University. Univer-sity. As an engineer and supervisor with the U.S. Engineers, he traveled much of the United States. Following his years as an engineer, he owned a building maintenance mainte-nance business in Oregon for 20 years. Later, he became Area Supervisor ever the Eastern United States and Canada Area for the LDS Church Building Department. As a truth seeker and an avid student of the scriptures, he has ceaselessly cease-lessly devoted his life to the LDS Church. He has served in many missionary mission-ary and leadership positions, posi-tions, including several years in a stake presidency. presiden-cy. Especially sensitive to those in need, he tirelessly strove to lift and assist others. He will be missed by his wife, Othelia; daughters, daugh-ters, Rita Edmonds, Orem, and Delia Jones, Mapleton; grandchildren: Thomas, Matthew and Adina, Anjanette, Jared, Paul, Kendralee, Saran- D. Hall Hilton D. (Kyra) Hall, Allan P. (Luella) Hall, Audrey H. (Ronald) Barwick, Dorothy H. Floyd; 28 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by two sons-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and two grandsons. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January Janu-ary 18, at 11 a.m. at the Fairview 4th Ward Chapel. Friends may call at Ursenbach Funeral Home, Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
