The charges were tax evasion in Texas. Packer was in Mapleton visiting his girl friend, Janet Burt, daughter of Kent Burt. What Janet didn't know, was that the whole thing had been arranged between the police and Packer. Janet was very surprised and relieved when the judge sentenced Michael to extridition to Texas unless he married a born and bred Utah woman. Michael had already arranged for them to be married this week. Give gift of live Are you looking for the perfect per-fect gift to give this holiday season? IHC Blood Services invites you to give the gift of life. During this busy time of year, a constant need exists for individuals to donate blood. Each year the number of blood donors declines significantly during the holidays, yet the need for blood remains constant. Quite simply, donating blood saves lives. Three hundred donors do-nors are needed every day of the year to keep Utah's hospitals supplied with life-saving blood. It is critical to receive new dona tions daily because blood can be stored for only 35 days, and platelets can only be stored for five days. IHC Blood Services seeks individuals to donate blood during dur-ing the entire year, and especially during the holiday season. Anyone Any-one 17 years or older, in good health and weighing more than 110 pounds may be eligible to donate. To make a donation appointment or for more information informa-tion regarding blood donations, call Utah Valley Regional Medical Medi-cal Center in Provo, 379-7021. Enjoy the spirit and warmth of Christmas, and please accept our profound gratitude for your, support this year. Happy Holidays! Colene, Teresa, Lor & kngie Te Mam vlace Eair Salon 56 W. 245 S. Working it off The holidays have come and gone and now you've had your fill. Chances are, if you've put on a few pounds, you'll be thinking think-ing about a new exercise plan just in time for January, when New Year's Resolutions are on the table. This is nothing new-health club memberships are often up uv the first part of the year. But what can you reasonably expect from exercise and how long will it take? According to a recent edition of Self magazine, a comprehensive com-prehensive exercise program would include aerobic exercise for 20 to 30 minutes three days a week and weight-training exercises exercis-es for 20 minutes two days a week. If you're doing all that, here's what you can expect to achieve, after one month: 1. Fat loss of 3 to 4 pounds without dieting, strength gain of 20 to 30, increased muscle mass of 3 pounds. After three months: total fat loss of 9 to 12 pounds without dieting, strength gain of 60 to 80, increased muscle mass of 4.5 pounds, six percent increase in HDL (or good) cholesterol, 10 to 20 in aerobic capacity. 1 n If this is how your computer system makes you feel, call Mike at MC Compro. Springville City officials and citizens were on hand to try out the new elevator in the Civic Center a week ago after a ribbon-cutting ribbon-cutting ceremony. The elevator, which sits outside the library in the main foyer, has been needed for a long time. It will make things easier for people attending the Springville Playhouse productions and for those who do business with city workers whose offices are now on the lower lever of the building.
