Show Page Ten - The Springville Herald - December 21, 1994 gsssaf .... ; ' in mm jmam ' ; Fritz Boyer, left, development officer at the Springville Museum of Art and Casey Rowan, facilities manager, are shown above in front of the sign that has been erected on the east of the museum. Plans have been drawn and money is being raised for the new Centennial Wing that will be added to the museum at this site. This project is in conjunction with the centennial celebration for the state. The crawl space area under a major part of the museum has been dug out by many Boy Scout groups and is ready for the new rennovation. The new wing will add several galleries, a children's area, a museum bookstore, kitchen and storage areas to the existing museum. Boyer, who in charge of fundraising and getting grants, invites citizens citi-zens of Springville and Mapleton to contribute generously to the project. Second explosive found in water by Laurel Brady The State Division of Water Quality said late Monday a second sec-ond explosive compound has been detected in Mapleton' s water supply. Keith Egan, Project Manager, said he was notified of the presence of a substance called "HMX." although he did not have specific figures, he thought the amount detected would probably proba-bly be small. ' "Not enough studies have been done to know if it is a lifetime issue," Eagan said. "We don't know what drinking the water for 40 years will mean," he added, referring to how long Trojan Corporation's plant in the mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon has been in operation. Eagan said city officials would be furnished with information about the properties of HMX as soon as it is available. Like RDX, HMX is a carcinogen. Correction A statement in last week's Sprinville Herald by Mapleton Mayor Richard Maxfield should have read, "Thanks for not getting get-ting sucked into that trap.
