The first Mothers March took place in 1950 in Phoenix, AZ where mothers went door-to-door in an appeal to raise money to continue the fight against polio. Today, mothers, fathers and youth groups march to fight birth defects, infant mortality and low birth weight. Funds raised from the 1991 Mothers March will benefit the1 "Campaign for Healthier Babies" Ba-bies" which emphasizes public health education, community service and research in all areas of infant and maternal health. This year the Greater Utah Chapter awarded nearly $100,000 to health organizations organiza-tions for research, with aft additional $137,000 in national grant monies awarded to local organizations. NOTICE OF ORDINANCE Notice is hereby given that on January 15, 1991, Springville City Council adopted Ordinance Ordi-nance No. 3-91 entitled AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE REQUIREMENT RE-QUIREMENT FOR CONVEYANCE OF WATER RIGHTS TO THE CITY AS A CONDITION CON-DITION OF ANNEXATION ANNEX-ATION OR DEVELOPMENT DEVELOP-MENT OF LAND; AND AMENDING SECTION 11-7-402 OF CITY CODE OF SPRINGVILLE, SPRING-VILLE, UTAH, 1979. The ordinance requires that land annexed to the city be accompanied by conveyance to the city of a water right capable of producing an annual quantity of water not less than that which would be produced by an equivalent first class water right of Springville Irrigation Company. The former requirement was that the quantity of water to be conveyed was six (6) acrefeet per acre. If land is annexed without conveyance of water rights to the city, conveyance of the water rights will be required before any building permits per-mits are issued for the property or other development devel-opment is allowed. The original of the ordinance is on file in the office of the City Recorder and may be inspected there by interested parties. The ordinance becomes effective February 12, 1991. Under the direction of Virgina Gore, Mrs. Sanchez's fifth grade class at the Mapleton School made a children's quilt that they donated to the Crisis Center for a special child. The kids drew pictures on paper that were then trunsfered with a light box to a quilt block. The kids colored their quilt block with markers and crayons and after the quilt was sewn together, they each quilted their own block. Dancers from the Order of the Arrow, Spanish Fork, Wischiki Chapter told Indian stories through darning. First the Medicine Man rid the classroom of evil spirits, then the children enjoyed dances about hunting and Indian fightin;. The final dance was a sacred ceremonial Hoop Dance. It was explained that each time the dancer went through the 1kk ). an extra year would be added to his life. She was born Oct. 23, 1W6. in Payson to Benjamin Franklin and Loviha Ursula Elmer Drollinger. She married Samuel Arthur Bellows Feb. 29, 1928 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died in 1950. She married Ber-trun Ber-trun James Sanford Nov. 1, 1954 in Provo. He died in March of 1989. She was raised and attended schools in Pay-son, Pay-son, graduating from high school there. She was a member of the LDS Church, and had worked in the Primary and Relief Society. She was active doing temple work and enjoyed sewing. sew-ing.
