Show SOCIAL EVENTS Kirsten Harward Robert Moffitt to marry Friday Announcement is made by Jud and Marsha Harward of Springville of the engagement of their daughter, Kirsten, to Mr. Robert Moffitt, Mof-fitt, son of Bob and Carol Moffitt of Spanish Fork. The couple plans to be married Friday, January 25, 1991 at the Springville Museum of Art. A reception will be held after the ceremony cere-mony at the musuem from seven to nine p.m. The bride-to-be graduated from Spanish Fork High School and LDS Seminary. She attended Dixie College and is currently attending at-tending Utah Valley Community College. She is employed in Spanish Fork. The prospective groom graduated from Spanish Fork High School and LDS Seminary. He served an LDS mission in Tulsa, Oklahama. He is also attending UVCC and is employed in Spanish Fork. Showers were given for the bride by Natalie Nat-alie Lake, LeAnn Hancock, Cassic H jorth and Kendra Hunter; Jane Fox, and K'Ann Carlson, Hortense Harward, Jane Overman and Pam Maxfield. The newlyweds will make their home in Spanish Fork. Nolan Weight, to celebrate 80th birthday The family of Nolan G. Weight will honor him on his 80th birthday with an open house. All friends and relatives, are invited to help him celebrate cele-brate on Saturday, January 26, 1991 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Mapleton Church, 30 West Maple Street. Mr, Weight was born in Springville January 25, 1911. He married Aileen Vane and they recently celetrated their 57th wedding anniversary. Their children are Mrs. Dean (Myrna Lee) Tew and Barry A. Weight, both of Map-i Map-i leton; Howard R. Weight, and Mrs. Robert (La Nell) Riddle, both of California; Melvyn R. Weight, Mrs. Martin (Camille) Powell and Kent N. Weight, all of Springville. They have 35 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren. great-grandchildren. Soon after his marriage Mr. Weight ran a service station in Springville and later worked for Pacific Slates Pipe plant and for the Utah State Hospital in Provo. He was a policeman in 1942 and a worker for Cleveland Steel at Ironton in 1943. He worked for U.S. Steel at Geneva from 1943 until retirement in 1974 from the Central ; Maintainance Car Shop. He has been active in the LDS Church holding several positions including Gospel Doctrine Teacher, Sunday School President, High Priest's Councilor and High Priest Instructor. He has also been a worker in the Provo Temple. Weight has enjoyed some traveling with family and friends to all the western states, Canada, British Columbia, Colum-bia, Vancouver Island and Hawaii. His hobbies include hunting, fishing, traveling and photography. Mothers study Mothers Study Club met at the Crystal Manor, Tuesday, Jan. 15 for a luncheon and program. There were 1 5 members mem-bers present, two guests, and the speaker, who was Lee Nelson, Nel-son, author of the book "Beyond "Be-yond the Veil". He told some of the experiences experi-ences that people had shared wjth him to go in his book. Jo has a special love of music mu-sic and has performed in many quartets and with her husband through the years. She also loves sports, with BYU basketball basket-ball being her favorite. She has held virtually all the positions possible for a woman in the LDS Church, with a 100 Relief Society Visiting Teaching record for many years.
