IFTS to marry Gary Cameron Karen Jones, daughter of Robert and Joan Jones of Springville, will marry Gary A. Cameron, son of David and Lois Ann Cameron Cam-eron of Orem, on May 1 1 , 1990 in the Manti LDS Temple. A reception will honor the couple that evening from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the home of the groom's parents, 61 North 705 West, Orem. All friends and relatives are invited to attend. A bridal shower was given by the groom's sister, Barbara Cox. Maid of Honor will be Terri Miller with Jackie Jones and Judith Mallory-Marsh as bridesmaids. The bride-elect graduated from Springville High School. She is attending the University of Phoenix, working towards a bachelor degree in business management. She is currently cur-rently employed at Novell Inc. Her fiance graduated from Mountain West High School where he was very active in sports, lettering all four years as all around athlete. He played professional baseball for the Seattle Mariners for two years. He is currently current-ly employed with Word Perfect Corporal ion and plans to pursue a professional baseball career. Special guests at the reception will be grandparents of the groom, Ned and Ruth Cameron of Orem, and Helen Wilson of Spanish Fork. The couple will make their home in Maple-ton. Pauline Perkins to trade vows with Rdnald Bell Pauline Perkins, daughter of Gary and Carol Perkins of Springville, will marry Ronald A. Bell, son of Allen and Elouise Bell of Spanish Fork, on Saturday, May 12, 1990 in the Manti LDS Temple. The United Spirit Association Associa-tion is the largest spirit organization organ-ization in the Western United States and conducts summer training programs and special events. It offers group camps in cheerleading, song leading, pep flags, tall Flags, drill team, mascots and other spirit groups. It also sponsors the National High School cheer-leading cheer-leading competition in Southern South-ern California, halftime activities activi-ties for the Aloha Bowl in Hawaii, and provides entertainment enter-tainment for many professional and college athletic events. Keri was selected after winning outstanding recognition recogni-tion at USA Cheerleading Camp in Logan, last summer. She then underwent extensive auditioning and interviews. Keri's summer schedule with the association includes a -national convention in Southern South-ern California and teaching clinics throughout the Western United Stales. She will be an instructor when the Springville High School Cheerleaders attend at-tend camp at Utah State University in July. She will graduate from Springville High School this month with high honors. She has been involved with cheerleading, cheer-leading, pep flags, drill team and dance company, as well as Seminary Council, FHA Leadership, National Honor Society and Spanish club. She will be attending Southern Utah State College in the fall on an academic scholarship. May 9, 1990 - The Springville Herald - Page Five Two county DUP Convention On May 14th, the Spring-ville-Mapleton Daughters of Utah Pioneers will host their annual Two-County Convention Conven-tion under the direction of President Lucille Laney. Invited In-vited to the event to be held in Springville are the ladies from the Utah Provo Company. It will be held at the Hobble Creek Stake House, 650 East 500 South, in Springville and will feature two state officers from the Utah Central Company. Com-pany. Book sale will start at 8:30 a.m., officers meeting at 9 a.m. and general session will last from 10 a.m. to noon. Anyone interested is invited to attend the convention. Luncheon will be served at noon, tickets for the lunch are $4. Six people will be featured during the program to help enhance the theme of the year - "Savor the Memories of Yesterday-Find a compass for Tomorrow." . Manita Fowler will talk about her great-grandfather, William Clayton, who penned "Come, Come Ye Saints" while traveling across the plains. Evelyn Riding will wear a dress that was carried across the plains from Nauvoo and tell about her grandmother. Both will 80th birthday observed A family birthday party was held for Ila Trease for her 8()lh Birthday at the Springville Senior Citizen Center. It was hosted by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Pearl and Tom Davies of Orem and Jacquelyn and Ron Zarel of Garden Grove, California. She was born May. 1 , 1910 in Salt Lake City. She married John Trease June 22, 1930. He died July 5, 1967. She has eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
