"This drowsiness comes from the rush of blood to the stomach, stom-ach, a sort of 'all handson deck' call to help with the large amounts of invading proteins, carbs, and fats," says Peter Beyers, an Associate Professor at the University of Kansas. "With the blood go oxygen and glucose, depriving the brain of support needed for alertness." Depth and length of the inevitable fatigue depend almost entirely on the amount of calorics consumed. Those around us may regard such ac-' tivities as foolishness, but in such foolishness we can find wisdom. Life has its share of miseries, but it also is meant to be joyful.
