Show PUBLIC NOTICE Probate and guardianship Notice Consult county clerk or the respective signers for further information Ernest Eberhart Jr. Edwin Orunson NOTICE OF SPECIAL BOND ELECTION TO ALL QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF MAPLETON CITY CORPORATION, UTAH COUNTY, UTAH Please take notice that on the 2nd day of August, 1988, a special bond election will be held in Mapleton City Corporation, Utah County, Utah (the "City", at the voting places set out below for the purpose of submitting sub-mitting to the qualified electors of the City the following proposition: PROPOSITION Shall general obligation" bonds of Mapleton City Corporation, Cor-poration, Utah County, Utah, in an amount not exceeding $600,000, due and payable in not to exceed thirty (30) years from the date of said bonds, be issued and sold, within the eight percent (8 percent) additional indebtedness limitation for third class cities contained in Section 4 of Article XIV of the Utah Constitution, for the purpose of paying all or part of the cost of acquiring improvements im-provements and extensions ex-tensions to the public utility of said city comprising its water system by the acquisition and construction con-struction of waterworks, water-works, lines, pumps, storage facilities and other facilities, improvements im-provements and property used in connection con-nection with the acquisition, storage, transportation and supplying of water for domestic, industrial, irrigation, recreational and other purposes, including the acquisition of all land necessary therefor, in and for said city, and all costs incident to the authorization and issuance of such bonds? The polling place for said special bond election as well as the election judges and the alternate election judges who have been appointed to conduct the special bond election, are as follow: REGULAR VOTING DISTRICT: District No. 1; POLLING PLACE: Mapleton Elementary School. REGULAR VOTING DISTRICT: District No. 2; POLLING PLACE: 120 West Maple Street, Mapleton, Utah; JUDGES OF ELECTION: ELEC-TION: Glenda, Bringhurst, Judge; Angela H. Boyer, Judge; Linda C. Olsen, Judge; Colette L. Perry, Alternate. The voting at such special bond election shall be by ballot, which ballots will be furnished by the City Recorder of the City to the judges of election, to be by them furnished to the qualified voters. The polls at said polling places will open from 7:00 o'clock a.m. to 8:00 o'clock p.m. There will be no special registration of voters for the special bond election and the official register last made or revised shall constitute the register for such e' sction, except that the County ClerL of Utah County, Utah, will register as provided by law at his office during regular office hours, except Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, and except during the ten-day period immediately im-mediately preceding the special bond election, in the same manner as provided by law for registration by registration agents, any person 18 years of age or older who on the date of the election will be a qualified elector. Said County Clerk will cause registration agents in the City to make registration lists or copies of such lists available at the above-described above-described polling places for use by registered electors entitled to use such voting places. Absentee ballots may be obtained by any person otherwise eligible to vote at the special bond election but who, on the day of the election, will be serving as an election judge in another voting district, expects to be temporarily absent from Utah County, Ernest Eberhart Jr., 79, of Centerville, died Wednesday June 29, 1988 in a Bountiful hospital. He was born June 20, 1909 on Stutgart, Germany, Ger-many, a son of Ernest and Rosa Gebert Eberhart. He married Nevon Olsen, Jan. 9, 1934 in the Salt Lake IDS Temple. Survivors include his wife of Centerville; three sons and three daughters: Mrs. Charles (Collette) Howard, Boise, ID: Ernest Jan Eberhart, Sandy; Randy Eberhart, Clearfield; Mrs. J. Niel (Carolee) Strong, Springville; Mrs. Clint (Holly) Staples, Coalville; Kim C. Eberhart, Provo; 24 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister: Hugo Eberhart, Milton Eberhart, and Lydia Rowen. Burial was in Centerville Cen-terville City Cemetery. Arnold Mecham Edward Arnold Mecham, 89, died Friday, June 24, 1988, in Springville of a lingering illness due to stroke. He was born Oct. 17, 1898 in Provo to Mathew Dow and Sarah Eleanor Phillips Mecham. He married Amy Reynolds Martain", Feb. 4, 1928 in Salt Lake City. She died Aug. 18, 1955. He moved to Springville in 1899. In his early life he lived in Pittsburgh, Kansas and Hunter, Missouri, returning to Springville in 1920. He graduated Utah, or disabled on the day of the election, by making application in the manner and time provided by law, either by mail or in person at the office of the City Recorder in the City Offices at the Mapleton City Building, 35 East Maple Street, in Mapleton, Utah. PUBLIC NOTICE is further given that on August 2, 1988, that being a day not later than ten days after said special bond election, the City Council will meet at its regular meeting place at the Mapleton City Building at 35 East Maple Street in the City at 9:00 o'clock p.m., and canvass the returns and declare the results of said special election. Edwin Lee Brunson, 58, Springville, died Tuesday, June 28, 1988 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, of cancer. He was born Aug. 20, 1929, in Seminole, OK to Ernest Lee and Marie Alice Bittle Brunson. He married Nancy Hopkins Carter in Springville, Dec. 9, 1978. He was raised and attended schools in Oklahoma and Kaysville, graduating from Davis High School. He attended Utah Technical College in Salt Lake City, in a diesel mechanics program. He was a member of the BPOE No. 849, and a deacon in the Springville Com munity Church. At the time of his death, he was employed by Springville City in the water department. His hobbies included restoring old cars, camping and traveling. He is survived by his wife of Springville; his mother, Marie Edwards, Ed-wards, Springville; two sons: Kerry and Rodney Brunson, both of Salt Lake City; two stepsons: step-sons: Richard Hopkins, Orem; Jon Hopkins, Mesa, AZ; four grandchildren; grand-children; three step-grandchildren; step-grandchildren; one sister, Darline Raskind, Bakersfield, CA. July 6, 1988 - The Springville Herald - Page Seven OMTUARIE: Valdo Levanger Robert Springmeyer Arnold Mecham with a business degree and went to work as a legal stenographer in Provo with the law firm of Coleman and Straw. In 1921, he began working with In-termountain In-termountain Title and Abstract Company. He rode his bicycle from Springville to Provo every day. He also worked as a prop man for the Paramount Theatre. In 1935, he opened Provo Abstract and Title Company which he owned and managed until retiring in 1979. 1I2 was a state inheritance appraiser for 15 years. He was secretary-treasurer secretary-treasurer of Utah County Drainage District No. 1, from 1920s-1980s. He farmed west of Springville and enjoyed the out-of-doors. He was a member of the LDS Church, Springville 2nd Ward. Survivors include two sons and two daughters: J.L. Mecham, Orem; Arnold Mecham, Jr., Stansbury Park; Mrs. Charles M. (Eleanor) Craven, Ogden; Mrs. Clifford O. (Alice) Watkins, Irvine, CA;. 15 grandchildren 18 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; one sister, Mattie A. Davis. Service was Tuesday. Burial in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. Robert L . Springmeyer of Salt Lake City, died July 3, 1988 in a Salt Lake Hospital of cancer. His family moved to Provo, where his parents opened up the Alpine Ice Cream Company, that later became Chase Ice Cream. He was educated in private schools in California, including page Militan Academy, Menlo School and Stanford University. Univer-sity. After his graduation, he was awarded a commission in the Army and was assigned to the 115 Engineers in the famous Third Division. He married Venice Whiting of Springville June 10, 1942 at Springville. After the war ended, he enrolled at Massachusetts Institute In-stitute of Technology to become an architect. He has practiced in Salt Lake City since that time. He has been involved in civic affairs, and has done much volunteer work. He has been president of the Utah Chapter of American Institute of Architects, Salt Lake Exchange Club.Intermountain Division of the U.S. Ski Association. He and his wife have been involved with scouting and he was Twin Peaks Commissioner and Pack chairman for Cub Scouts. Since semi-retirement, semi-retirement, he has been Sec. Treas. and Board to Waldo Harris Levanger, 75, of Springville, died Thursday, June 30, 1988 at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. He was born Oct. 5, 1912 in Glendale, to Neils Christian and Charlotte Harris Levanger. He married Rose Savage Chamberlain Cham-berlain Feb. 13, 1951 in St. George. He was raised in Glendale and at age 21, joined the United States Navy. He served from 1934 to 1938, and was reactivated during war time from 1942 to 1945. He worked as an operator in construction. con-struction. He was a member of the Operating Engineers and was honored with 35 years service award. He was a member of the LDS Church. He is survived by his wife of Springville; two sons : Kent Levanger, Springville; Jean, Park City; step-children, Mrs. Phil (Katherine) . Bird, Mrs. John R. She was born Jan. 15, 1906 in Normal, IL, a daughter of Archibald Campbell and Mary Estella Morgan Meikle. She married Carr F. Greer March 22, 1926 in Riverside, CA. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa Temple. He died in December, 1985. Her family homesteaded in Mills, NM, and then moved to Barstow, CA, where she attended schools. She is survived by three sons and two daughters: Deon Greer, Ogden; Herbert Greer, June Brown and Joan Gallagher, all Orem; Dodd Greer, Springville; 22 grandchildren; grand-children; 25 greatgrandchildren; great-grandchildren; one brother and one sister: Archie Meikle, Arizona, and Minnie Clark, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Burial was in East Lawn Memorial Hills, Provo. Howard Walter Holdaway, 68, and Lena Hixon Holdaway, 64 of Mapleton, died Wednesday, Wed-nesday, June 29, 1988 from injuries received in an automobile accident. ac-cident. Howard was born Jan. 29, 1920 in Provo, to Walter Roland and Edna Margaret Knudsen Holdaway. Lena was born April 3, 1924 in Hayes, KS to Homer and Mary Boyd Hixon. They were married Nov. 12, 1946 in Provo. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Howard was raised and attended schools in Provo, and also attended at-tended BYU. He worked at Geneva Steel for 36 years as a crane operator. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War I, and was a member of the LDS Church, serving in the high priest group leadership. He enjoyed fishing. Lena was raised and attended school in Oak Creek. CO. She moved to Utah in 1944. She was a member of the LDS Church and was a cub scout leader, visiting teacher, Primary teacher, and librarian. She enjoyed gardening. They owned and operated a mink ranch for over 40 years and were members of the Fur Breeders Co-op. They are survived by three' daughters and four sons: Mrs. Dennis (Connie) Peterson, Carlsbad, CA; Mrs. Larry (Carol) Luebcke, Longmont, CO: Larry W. Holdaway and Steven G. Holdaway, both Mapleton; Evert H. Holdaway, Riverton; Russell A. Holdaway, Provo; Mrs. Jonathan (Lora Lee) Stohel, Springville; 28 grandchildren grand-children and three great-grandchildren. Howard is survived by three brothers and one sister: Clyde A. Holdaway, Payson; Mrs. Willian (Lyle) Facer, Provo; Ross T. Holdaway and Robert E. Holdaway, both of Vineyard. Lena is survived by four brothers and two sisters: Charles Hixon, Oak Creek, CO; Lee Hixon.
