Thanks to a microwave oven's fast cooking speed, all family members can have a nourishing meal in a matter of minutes any time of the day or night. According to home economists from Whirlpool Corporation, it is important that the entire family becomes familiar with the microwave oven's operation. Here are some reminders for safe and efficient operation: Never start a microwave oven when it is empty. Paper can char or burn and some plastics melt if heated for mo.e than four minutes. Never cook or reheat a whole egg. Steam build-up may cause it to burst. Over-cooking some foods can cause them to scorch or lla me... especially foods like potatoes or popcorn snacks. Use hot pads. Microwave oven energy does not heat containers, but the food does. In old India, people once believed that a watched pot foretold the future.
