Springville got off to a great start, leading Orem ,by as much as 10 points in the first quarter. The Devils played super defense with Justin Shurtleff's domineering height preventing Orem from scoring many points. Shurtleff racked up the points for Springville by scoring 11 in the first quarter. The second quarter saw Orem's offense work to close the gap and take the lead before the end of the half. The action was fast paced the third quarter as Springville caught up to Orem. The fourth quarter was also fast paced. Springville had the lead until Shurtleff fouled out of the game. Soon after Eric Jacobsen also fouled out of the game. From then on Orem took over. Les Chappell of Springville did his best to keep up. Chris Child played great defense trying to hold back the Tigers, but scoring from Orem's Richard Lamoreaux kept them ahead winning win-ning 81-64. Springville's high scorers were Shurtleff with 22 points, Chappell with 18, and Chris Child with 14. The Devils next game is this Friday, Dec. 30 as they travel to Provo to meet TimpView. Spanish Fork stings Springville The Spanish Fork Don's wrestling team wrapped up Springville last Thursday Dec. 22 40-11 on Springville's home mat. the past two weeks.
