The Heaps passed their 65th wedding anniversary yesterday. ,1, Heaps celebrate 65 years Lady winners posted The children of Duane and. Irean Heaps announce an-nounce the Sixty-fifth Wedding anniversary of their parents. It will be held, at the park as a family reunion. The couple were married Aug. 7, 1917 at Escalante, Utah. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple. Mr. Heaps was born at Escalante to Willard and Beatrice Heaps. He graduated from Escalante schools. He worked twenty years at Geneva until his retirement. He has worked in LDS Sunday School and Mutual presidencies. He is now a high priest. Mrs. Heaps was also born at Escalante to James and Synthia Mclnelly Alvey. Her schooling was also at Escalnte. She has worked in music in the Widtsoe and Sevier wards as ward chorister, as well as Mutual and Primary presidents. They are the parents of six sons. The four living are Van of American Fork, Gerald of Pleasant Grove, James of Orem, and Ray of Salt Lake City. The oldest and youngest are deceased, Guardner of Kerney, Ariz, and Ken of Kent, Wash. The Hobble Creek Ladies' Golf Association announced the winners for July's Day Play last week. Clyde of Springville have announced the engagement of their daughter, Cheryl, to Richard Alan DuBose, son of the late Katherine W. DuBose and Mr. Hank A. DuBose of Houston, Texas. The couple plan to be married on Aug. 7 in the Provo LDS Temple. A garden reception in their honor will be held that evening in the home of the bride's parents. A wedding luncheon will follow the ceremony at Magleby's Restaurant. They plan to make their home in Houston. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Springville High School and LDS Seminary. She is also a graduate of Brigham Young University, majoring in business finance. She spent a semester studying abroad in Spain. She is currently employed by an oil company in Houston. The prospective groom is a graduate of Eastwood High School in El Paso, Texas, and BYU, majoring in Zoology. He is currently attending medical school at the University of Texas. He served an LDS mission in Fresno, Calif. Attending the bride will be Millicent Carrasco. Standing with the groom will be Michael Townsley. Special guests will be Mr. and Mrs. Justin Winkler. An open house in Houston will be hosted on Aug. 17 by Mr. and Mrs. Roy A. Neer. Guests will be entertained en-tertained by Mr. and Mrs. Paul Haynie, Dr. and Mrs. Charles Carrasco, Mrs. Justin Winkler, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Waidelick and Miss Debbie DuBose. They are the parents of seven children: Mrs. Venell (Ileen) Wall and Dell Diamond, both of Springville; Don Diamond of Grand Island, Neb.; Mrs. Dean (Shirley) Vincent of Spanish Fork; Beverly Whitney of Provo; Mrs. Loren (Wilma) Sleight of Duchesne, Utah; and Ross Diamond of Salem, Utah. They have 29 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The first United States coast to coast airplane flight was completed in 1911. It took 49 days (with stops). y if s '4 p Elder David P.
