'I Mm slllii 3 i mm Bryan King, Catherine Nixon Halversons hold reunion Cheney to wed Williams Aug. 7 Craig Williams, Nancy Ann Cheney Nixon King to wed Aug. 10 Catherine Ann Nixon, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard S. Nixon of Mapleton, will become the bride of Bryan Croft King, son of Mrs. Carol C. Nelson of Orem, and Dr. K.F. King of Lincoln, Nebraska, on Tuesday, August 10 in the Provo LDS Temple. A wedding breakfast will follow at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Manfred Nelson. A reception at the home of the bride's parents, 466 East 1100 South, Mapleton, will honor the couple that evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Special guests will include grandparents of the couple, Mrs. Lyle Nixon, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Croft and Mr. and Mrs. Neal V. Nelson. Prenuptial parties have been given by Lois and Wendy Hulbert; and Sandra Austin, Brenda Blan-chard, Blan-chard, Sandra Williams; and Ruth Coon, Elaine Maxfield. The bride-elect is a graud'ate of Springville High School and LDS Seminary. She attended Brigham Young University. Her fiance graduated from Orem High School and LDS Seminary. He served an LDS mission to the Tulsa, Oklahoma Mission. He is presently attending Brigham Young University. The Second Annual Halverson Reunion was held on July 3 and 4 in Pinedale, Wyo. .Sixty-seven .Sixty-seven relatives made camp in a field next to the summer home of Don and Irene Sutter Gurwell. Descendants of the late Andrew and Mary Halverson came from Wyoming, Colorado, California, Nevada, Utah, Idaho,' Ohio, Kansas and Hawaii. Direct descendants descen-dants were Mary Halverson Bowen of Idaho, Merrill Halverson and Harvey Halverson of Utah. A wonderful time was spent by all. The children especially enjoyed riding Mr. and Mrs. Maurice E. Cheney of Springville have announced the engagement of their daughter, Nancy Ann, to Craig Allen Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley T. Williams of Mapleton. The couple plan to be married on Saturday, Aug. 7, in the Springville Third and Ninth Ward building. A reception in their honor will be held that evening from 7 : 30 to 9, also at the church building. They plan to make their home in Springville. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Springville High School and Utah Technical College, where she majored in professional driving. The prospective groom is also a graduate of Springville High School, and LDS Seminary. He also graduated from UTC in professional driving. He ' served an LDS mission in the Roanoke, Va., area. Legion outing slated Springville, Mr. and Mrs. Allen S. Webb are pleased to announce an-nounce the forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Shelly Jo, to Tadd H. Thorpe, son of Mr. and Mrs. Taylor L. Thorpe of Springville. The couple will exchange wedding vows tonight, Thursday, Aug. 5, in a ceremony to be performed at the home of the bride's parents, 875 E. 200 south, in Spanish Fork. A garden reception will be held there following the ceremony from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. All friends and relatives are invited. Attending the bride will be Kerilee Dansie, Joan Seeley, Christine Anderson, Shanna Giles and Holly Webb. Amberly Anderson will act as flower girl. Attendants to the groom will be Brad Thorpe, Jeff Webb and Mark Tuttle. Special guests will be the grandmother of the bride, Mrs. Mildred Hall and the grandparents of the groom; Mrs. Mildred Giles and Mr. Lew Thorpe. Pre-nuptial parties were given by Becky Johnson, Diane Anderson, Merrily Hall, Kathy Hall, LeAnn Hales. Kerilee Dansie and Barbara Thorpe. The bride elect is a 1981 graduate of the Spanish Fork High School where she was a varsity song leader and was active in the Dance Club. She also attended Utah State University. Her fiancee is a 1980 graduate of Springville High School and is presently employed in Linden, Utah. couple .will make their first home in The annual canyon dinner of the American Legion and Auxiliary' will be held at the veterens' fireplace in Kelly's Grove on Wednesday, Aug. 11 beginning at 6:30 p.m. All members of the legion and auxiliary have been invited to attend. Each person has been asked to bring their own cooked chicken, their own dishes and a potluck dish to share among the group. Michael Day, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clark Day of Springville, recently returned from the Sydney, Australia LDS Mission.
