The Ordinance changes from 500 feet to 200 feet the distance from a church or school within which a Class A beer license may not be granted. The ordinance also decreases from 500 feet to 200 feet the distance from a church or school within which beer may not be sold in the original containers for consumption off the premises of the sale. The Ordinance does not affect Class B of Class C beer licenses nor the restrictions on sale of beer for consumtion on the premises. The ordinance or-dinance provides that the distance from a church or school shall be measured from the nearest door of the premises on which the beer is sold, or other point of sale, to the nearest door of the church or school which is open to the public or to students and that the distance shall be measured along the shortest route of possible pedestrian travel between the two points. Vernon Curtis Vernon Lynn Curtis, 53, of El Sanbrante, Calif., and former Springville resident died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1981 at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake City of a heart ailment. He was born May 13, 1927 in Mapleton, the son of Jame and Rose Snyder Curtis. He married Eva Mae Blacker in November of 1951. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He was the owner manager' of a chemical company in California. He was a member of the LDS Church. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Navy. Survivors include his wife of El Sabrante; six children, Robert, James, Jay and Shirley Curtis all of El Sabrante; Mrs. Michele Nickols, Kearns, Mrs. Rebecca Mitchells, Murray; seven grandchildren; grand-children; three brothers and two sisters, J. Elmo Curtis, Mrs. Muriel Brown and Mrs. Velma Carlton, all of Provo; Carl. Curtis, Springville and Kenneth Max Curtis, Orem. Main Springville, died Friday, Feb. 13, 1981 at a Provo Convalescent center following an illness. He was born Feb. 13, 1899 at Bluff San Juan County the son of John Ezra and Magnolia Francis Walton Bailey. He married Veloy Wahlin Dec. 17, 1921 in Provo and the marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He was a high priest in the LDS Church. He had been employed as a coal miner in Carbon County for 40 years prior to his retirement. Survivors include his wife; two sons and one daughter, John K. Bailey, San Diego, Calif.; Robert R. Fae Hancock Fae Palfreyman Hancock, 72, of 184 South Canyon Avenue, Springville, died Wednesday Wed-nesday February 18, 1981, at the Utah Valley Hospital following a long illness. She was born March 3, 1908 at Springville, Utah, the daughter of Dennis and Violetta Blackett Palfreyman. She was married to Leo Velt Hancock Sept. 30, 1924 at Provo, Utah. The marriage was later solmnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church and had served in the YWMIA, Primary and Relief Society. Surviving, husband of Springville; one son and three daughters, Dick Velt Hancock, Ferron; Mrs. Jack (Beverley Fae) Whiting, Las Vegas; Mrs. Dean (Delia Rae) Powell, Orem; and Mrs. Dick (Violetta Sue) Keifer, Tooele; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, Bert Palfreyman and Eugene Palfreyman, both of Springville; Mrs. Lee (Myrle) Davis, Salt Lake City and Mrs. Pearl Liddiard, Provo.
