Applications for the Silver Beaver award are now being accepted at local Scout Offices, according ac-cording to Jerry Rose, chairman of .the Silver ', Beaver selection com-f com-f mittee. The Silver Beaver is the highest award presented ; .in the scout program. It is ! "given to the veteran ! scouters, both male and . female, who have been of ' the most service 5; throughout their years in , scouting. The Silver Beavers are to be honored at the Fellowshin ReceDtion and i 1: Dinner to be held April 25. The reception will begin ! at 6: 15 p.m. at which time I the Silver Beaver will be K honored and a slide I presentation will be ! ; shown telling of the scouts -activities and ac-i, ac-i, complishments through-I' through-I' out the past year. They have graduated from a two-year two-year course of study from., the National Life Underwriter Un-derwriter training Council, Rick and Barbara Morandi and their three children and Don and MarJean Peterson and their three children enjoy very much living and working in Springville. They are also active in the Springville Chamber of Commerce and Boy Scouts of America. Scouts Roger Butikofer Roger Butikofer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Butikofer, has earned his Eagle Scout badge. It was presented to him on Feb. 12 at the Second Ward Scout banquet. Roger was born in Idaho Falls and lived on the family farm for five years. He has been in his deacons quorum presidency, served as teachers quorum president, and is now priests quorum secretary. His hobbies are skiing, working, backpacking, running, wood projects, drafting, traveling, and people. His Eagle project was arranging to paint and do the parking lot stripping. Plans following high school graduation include attending night school and then going on a mission. He is especially interested in FFA and the German Club and has run in four cross-country teams". His favorite class in school is drafting, he says, because he enjoys drawing uniform things. Danica Lyn Swenson celebrated her first birthday February S.
