Notice is hereby given that tentative approval was given by the Utah Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining to Interstate Brick Company, 9210 South 5200 West, West Jordan, Utah, to commence com-mence Open Pit Clay mining operations on portions of Section 16, Township 7 South, Range 1 West, Utah County, Utah. The name' of the mine is the Long Canyon Mine, and the person representing the company com-pany in this matter is Mr. Robert L Steele, 1075 North 400 East, Nephi, Utah. Interstate Brick Company has fulfilled obligations under the Mined Land Reclamation Act of 1975 (Section 40-8, U.C.A., 1953, as amended) amen-ded) and will employ the following reclamation techniques. During Operations: 1) Existing gravel roads will be used and about 1000 feet of new road will be built. 2) Soil and vegetation will be removed from about 15 acres of new disturbance. 3) An open pit will be developed to remove the clay. 4) Clay will be stockpiled stock-piled for removal to the brick plant. 5) The mine will be maintained in a condition which will not create a public hazard. After Operations: 1) All equipment, structures and ebris will be removed from the surface. 2) Distrubed areas will, be regraded to the extend possible. 3) Stockpiled soil will be spread and scarified. 4) The disturbed areas will be reseeded. 5) Reclamation maintenance will .be provided by the operator until surety is released. Any person aggrived by this tentative decision is hereby requested to submit written protest within 30 days of July 21, 1978, to the Division of Oil, Gas, and Mining, 1588 West North Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah 84116, setting forth factual reasons for his complaint and thereafter, at a time and place heretobe established, appeear before the Board of Oil, Gas, and Mining, to show cause, if any there be, why this plan should not be approved. The Junior Team will compete August 9 at the County Meet held in Lehi. About 40 participants ages 9 to 19 from Provo, Orem, Mapleton and Springville took part in the meet held at Hobble Creek Rodeo Grounds. The senior members took a written exam to test their knowledge of horsemanship hor-semanship as will as demonstrating their skills in the six events of the meet. Entrants took part in as many events as they chose, those with the highest points accumulated ac-cumulated throughout the meet picked to fill the teams to county that will compete with teams selected from other districts in the county. v In three of the events, judges selected winners on the grace, ease and skill in which they handled han-dled the horses and awarded first, second and third place ribbons. Showmanship at halter, western horsemanship and the trail clasp. Demonstrations of skill and precision in handling with time as the keyhole, barrell racing and the slalom-type poles events. The meet was sponsored spon-sored by two Springville Horsemanship 4-H Clubs. Sponsor team were Eldon Fackrell's mixed club and Jo Ann Engleson's girls club.
