Show One hundred fifty-one students indicated a desire to enter full time employment upon graduation. Seventy-seven of those students indicated they would be employed in skilled trades and technical positions, 19 in clerical and office jobs, 16 in marketing and sales, 13 in personal services and 26 in unskilled and miscellaneous occupations. In the category of the survey asking for information on other than full time employment, 12 seniors indicated that they would join the military service, 56 would choose marriage, 13 would go on missions and 30 were undecided. On a percentage basis, 63.1 percent indicated they would attend a post high school educational institution - 123 or 27.4 percent of these students would attend vocational schools. It is not known how many students attending junior colleges and the regular four year institutions would choose vocational courses at those institutions. It is interesting to note, however, after studying the figures year after year, the increase in the number of students who either attend post secondary vocational schools or enter vocational technical employment upon graduation. This would seem to indicate that students are being provided more opportunities for training at the high school level and that there is a greater awareness of the need for skilled craftsmen and technicians. A shipmate said crew members thought at first the woman was riding on a "huge oil drum." They did not, in fact, realize it was a turtle until they started hauling her into the ship. After she was aboard, the turtle" tur-tle" even circled the area twice before disappearing into the sea, as if to reassure itself that its former passenger was already in good hands," said an officer. Legend has it that the kangaroo's name comes from a native phrase meaning "I don't know," given in reply to the white man who inquired the name of this strange animal. Study of Future Intentions Of High School Senior Each year the Utah State Board of Education makes a study of the future intentions of high school seniors. I thought it would be well to share some of this information with our Nebo people to give you an idea of where our graduates go. Seven hundred ten seniors participated in this survey. One hundred twenty-three students indicated a desire to attend a post high school vocational or technical school while 325 students expressed ex-pressed a desire to attend either a junior college or a four year college or university. Of the 448 students desiring to attend post secondary institutions, in-stitutions, 136 indicated a desire to attend Brigham Young University and the second most popular institution was Utah Technical College at Provo with 107 students choosing that institution. in-stitution. Only 34 students indicated in-dicated a desire to attend colleges outside of the state. If ever your ship goes down, watch for a giant sea turtle.
