These two young ladies are camping out for the first time. Because of the insects in the grass and woods, one of them wisely sprays an insecticide before zipping up the tent and turning in. Her mother carefully care-fully selected an aerosol saying say-ing "Non-Toxic to Humans and Pets" right on the front of the label. This means it contains pyrethrins, the only generally available insecticide which can be legally labeled "Non-Toxic to Humans and Pets." Pyrethrins Pyreth-rins can be used inside the tent, around the food cooked over the campfire, and near any of the pets who may be sharing the camping out. In fact, pyrethrins pyr-ethrins can be used anywhere, indoors or outdoors. But be careful when shopping. Make sure the aerosol label says "Non-Toxic to Humans and Pets" right on the front. H) CREATIVE CRAFT IDEAS, . Homemade Finger Paints If you have ever watched a child finger paint, you know already that it is creative and lots of fun. It may be said to be messy too, but hands can always be washed and hours of rewarding activity it provides pro-vides - make finger painting well worth while. Finger paint is easy to make from kitchen staples. Besides the paints, you'll need some water, a sponge and coated paper such as glazed shelf paper pa-per or butcher paper. Wax or plastic surfaced papers are unsatisfactory. Provide a work surface protected with newspapers news-papers or oil cloth and a plastic plas-tic coverall or apron for the children. To begin, place a piece of glazed paper shiny side up and wet it with a sponge. Smooth it flat on work surface. sur-face. Next, put a large blob of finger paint on the paper and spread it out, using both hands. Now, you're ready to play. Use thumb and fingers to make small forms and swirls. Use side of hands to make leaf forms or strips. Finger tips and finger nails are useful for sharp lines or lettering. A very small child will be happy working with Just one color. Older children may want to mix colors. They will have fun finding out that red and yellow make orange, yellow yel-low and blue make green and blue and red make purple. Finger paintings can be used as your own wrapping paper, original paintings, birthday tablemats, coverings for boxes, canisters and books, and other decorations. To make finger paints: Mix cup Argo corn starch and cup cold water in a medium med-ium size saucepan. If liquid dye is to be used for coloring, color-ing, increase corn starch to cup. Empty 1 envelope un-flavored un-flavored gelatin into cup cold water and allow to soak. Meanwhile, stir 2 cups hot water into starch mixture. Cook over medium heat stirring stir-ring constantly, until mixture is smooth and comes to a boil. Remove from heat and blend in softened gelatin. Add Vt cup mild soap flakes or detergent de-tergent and stir until thoroughly thor-oughly dissolved. This will make about 3 cups. Divide mixture into portions in jars or bowls. Stir in 1 teaspoon tea-spoon all purpose powder dye or 1 tablespoon liquid dye for every cup of mixture. Suggested Sug-gested colors are scarlet, yellow yel-low and royal blue.
