Paxman rites Friday in First Ward Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the Wheeler Mortuary Chapel for Jean Beardall Paxman, 81 who died July 13, 1970 in a Provo rest home of causes incident to age. Bishop Leon Bjarnson of the First Ward will officiate. Friends may call at the mortuary this evening from 7 to 9 or Friday morning prior to the services. Burial will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery. She was born May 26, 1889 in Springville the daughter of William Henry and Clara Viola Packard Beardall. She married Thomas Burdell Paxman Dec. 17, 1908 at Provo. Mr. Paxman died in 1951. Active in the LDS Church, she was a member of the Relief Society. She was employed as a practical nurse and was also a school lunch supervisor. Surviving are three sons and three daughters: William Paxman, Eureka; Ronald Paxman, Spanish Fork; Frank Paxman, Clayton, Calif.; Mrs. Auleen Dumas, Murray; Mrs. Mark (LaVern) Bryan, Payson,; Mrs. Ralph (Emily) Campbell, Chico, Calif.; 33 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren; 1 great Small engine failures? Berkhimer, 68, who died at the Utah Valley Hospital July 14, 1970. Friends may call at the mortuary Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. or Saturday prior to the services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery where the BPO Elks No. 8489 will conduct graveside rites. He was born June 9, 1902 in Fontonella, Iowa, the son of Mark E. Berkhimer George W. and Maude Ryan Berkhimer. He married Thelma Rea July 1, 1922 in Littleton, Colorado. She died Dec. 5, 1965. He married Julina Snow April 14, 1969 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He received his early education in Iowa. He moved to Boulder, Colorado and attended the Colorado University, He made his home in Boulder and in 1925 became manager of theatres. In 1927 he managed the old Queen Theatre there prior to being transferred to the in-termountain in-termountain area as theatre manager. In 1932 he moved to Las Vegas and New Mexico where he managed the Rialto Theatres and also in Trinidad, Colorado where he managed the West and Strand theatres. In 1937 he moved to Lusk, "greatgrandchild;' five brothers and two sisters, Francis Beardall and Alvin R. PHONE: 489-4131 or 489-6660 150 North 800 West USED NORTH PROVO 'I ) All Jay Averett Funeral services held Wednesday for Jay Averett Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Fourth-Tenth-Thirteenth Ward for Jay Averett, 78, who died July 12, 1970 at his home. Bishop Blaine Wheeler of the Tenth Ward officiated. of-ficiated. Burial was in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery directed by Wheeler Mortuary. A lifelong resident, he was born August 24, 1891 in Springville, a son of Judithan Hardy and Alice Farnsworth Averett. He married Ellen Lee on January 20, 1917 in Provo and their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mrs. Averett died April 20, 1970. Mr. Averett was a farmer and church worker and was a High Priest in the LDS Church at the time of his death. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Warwick (lone) Palfrey-man Palfrey-man of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Lorin (Lucille) Corbin of Nephi, and Mrs. Carlos (Louise) Hjorth of Mapleton; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Ruphas J. Averett of Springville. Wyoming to manage a theatre there. In 1941 he worked as an accountant in a munitions depot in Provo and then in South Dakota. In 1942 he returned to Provo and managed the Academy theatre for 14 years. In 1959 and 1960 he worked for the Utah State Road Commission and from 1960 to 1968 he was auditor for the Utah State Liquor Commission. Following his marriage to Mrs. Snow, he moved to Springville where he retired. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was a lifetime member of the BPOE. He served as house manager of the Provo Elks several years. His hobbies were traveling, gardening and he was an expert billiards player. Survivors include his wife and one son and one daughter George R. Berkhimer of Los Angeles; Mrs. Woodrow A. (Shirley) Seegmiller of Lindon: 5 grandchildren, a brother and a sister, Dale B. Berkhimer, Provo; Mrs. Maudie Ellis of Long Beach, California.
